Daniel Davis is an American stage, screen, and television actor. Davis is best known for portraying Niles the butler on the sitcom The Nanny, and for his two guest appearances as Professor Moriarty on Star Trek: The Next Generation,
Saw him on Star Trek TNG years ago when he played Moriarty. Could not take my eyes off of him. Never really thought about him since, until I just saw him on an episode of New Amsterdam. He is much older now, but I recognized him by his eyes! Now I am hooked and learning all about him . I was shocked to realize he is the same guy as the butler on the Nanny! Seems like a very talented and delightful guy!❤
Thank you Rhonda! It was truly wonderful to watch Daniel Davis talk about the much loved show, The Nanny. He was for me, definitely the best on the show, his beautiful English accent, quick wit, and a brilliant sense of humor, all with such style and class. Its wonderful to note his warm, smiling, humble and down to earth manner, which is quite rare with most actors/actresses. I send him my blessings......from South Africa.
Came across this clip because FB has been showing The Nanny lately. Used to watch it sporadically. D Davis' Niles was very convincing as the acerbic Brit - like the late Duke of Edinburgh. He had some of the best lines on the Nanny. Love his work.
Not at all. He is actually funny. He is a good actor, and he sings well. He also did actual work when he was the butler. I saw the actress on a channel that broadcasts old shows recently. She never did any work and she was not funny. She was not bossy and nosy. No comparison at all!!!!!!!!!
