I flew my drone in Hurricane Beryl's wind and rain here in Houston in July on my channel. I've been to Florida once and have contemplated documenting this storm. Truly massive.
If you are in any of the areas to hit by Milton and u see any stray animals outside PLEASE take them to an animal shelter for protection before the storm hits. The idea that thousands of animals are going to drown SICKENS me. Be kind and look out for animals too. Please don't ignore them.

It doesn't matter a hurricane is enough of an impact.. When Sandy came up to Jersey only a Cat 1 75 mph winds and a lot of damage and flooding and power out for a week.. I have family in Tampa have to worry now
Its important to note North Carolina damage came from the issue of it being a valley made of rock and mud Basically the storm took the water to high ground and it ran down raising the river by over 25 feet since it pools in the vally and doesn't drain due to the stone Then you have the issue of structure being build on clay which diluted under large amounts of water leading to the collapse of many foundations Now when it comes to Florida you have sand and dirt on flat land leading to the water to spread out instead of pooling and the sand lets water soak down while dirt locks in and becomes tighter I wouldn't say it's much safer to take a hit but Florida is definitely condition to deal with it better whether you consider building codes designed around storms, land conditioning from low sea level or the fact it's surrounded by water so rescue can come in from all directions without worrying about roads and paths being obstructed like the valley up north

Good point. These are manufactured disasters. It’s been going on for a good long time now. I remember seeing during the beginning of Katrina there was a video of an actual cloud seeding at work. And it made everything much stronger and devastating.

Rain is tracked by ground-based radar, there are no ground-based radar systems in the middle of the ocean. We also generally don't care if it's raining over the water.
