Great video Michael. So happy to hear the retreat was a success 🙌!! The Attorney speaker you have there Andres has been our Attorney from the beginning over 3 years ago!! His firm is the best lawyers in the Country as far as I'm concerned. He has done our residency, our house purchase and etc. Wonderful person and his staff ❤. We have referred him to many families that moved here. I had to chuckle when you talked about being conned and loosing money and learning the hard way!! Not because it's funny but you know our story of being conned by Gringos. This retreat will save people alot of time, $$ and headaches.

Awesome! A fellow resident of Kelowna! I already knew you were 100% legit, but it gives me even more trust, if that's even possible, in what you are providing. I'd love to talk with Jenn at some point and get her perspectives on what she's learned. I'm a ways away from a potential relocation, but more information is ALWAYS good. I would not have the apparent vast amount of financial resources to pay a visit first to Costa Rica, so I would maybe consider just winging it. Lol's I just wonder? Would I be able to find an apartment to rent for $500 or less per month, and are there enough very large city parks that I could visit each day and practice my disc golfing...that's really all I need...I'm pretty simple that way...and could I find a job as a janitor and work part time / full time and collect my social security?

I would definitely advise coming to visit first. Pictures, videos and other people's testimonials are no substitute for being here yourself. It's not all pretty jungle and volcanoes. I love it here, but it is not for everyone. Yes, you can definitely find rent at those prices, though it might be hard to do if you don't speak Spanish well or know someone who can speak for you. You'll need to be in the towns and drive/walk around to look for the 'aquilar' signs to find those kids of prices. Pretty much every town has a city center that has a little park across from the church. There are also dedicated bigger parks in places, but you'd have to look for those if you are trying to do stuff like run laps and all that. You cannot LEGALLY work in CR unless you become a permanent resident. According to CR government, if you have at least $1k/mth in pension, you can survive in CR. That said, I would come down with more than that if possible. You don't have lots of options at that price point, but yes, it can be done.

Yes, you can rent in some areas for under $500. You can't work though and the wages for janitorial work is only $2.86 an hour. $23.21 for an 8 hour day.

You could buy a small lot in a rural area for $10K and build a two bedroom prefab house for $20K to $30K depending on finishings. You won't find anything like that near the beach or in metropolitan areas though. Small house in suburban San Jose could easily sale for $200K. Beach or touristy areas are off the cgmhart and just not a good buy in current market. Wait until next recession (next year probably) and you can probably come in and buy at half the prices properties are selling for now.
