Maurice’s voice was the “dries clear glue” that married all 3 of their voices together. You can’t see it but once you start paying attention you realize it.
We all love a Maurice. Someone who is talented who doesn't demand the spotlight but who is incredibly talented. Humble, willing to step back for the benefit of the whole. He did it.
Maurice was easy to love with his humor, talent humility and beautiful smile. My heart broke when he died. What a great loss to the music world and hearts of everyone who loved him.
Maurice struggled for years with alcoholism. This song sounds like the first steps of recovery. Every time I hear it, that opinion grows stronger. And oh my, that voice.
Exactly right about MO’s song, being about the journey of his sobriety. 🎉 ❤ May all struggling with addiction be blessed! ❤ Prayers for every single one of you! 🎉 ❤ 😊
To be able to go back in time and warn Maurice and Robin of the birth defect (both had) so it wouldn't lead to Maurice's death. Robin had surgery to fix it years later, but it couldn't stop the cancer.
I will listen to these men for the rest of my life! They are all so different in every way: looks, presence and voices. Their voices are all very different and absolutely necessary to make the beautiful music that we love- Robin can hit those prolonged high notes, Barry plays lead, and Maurice hits the lower notes and oh, so magically!
I put them up there with Dream Theater as being some of the best musicians. Only 5 groups outsold Bee Gees (two are Beetles and Paul McCartney which I can't stand)
The day Mo died the world lost a beautiful man, inside and out. RIP Mo I still miss you as do all of your friends, your family and your millions of fans❤️❤️
I had no idea that Maurice had an incredible lead voice. He has always added great backup and harmony voice. I wonder if it has mostly been his choice to remain in the background?
Maurice and Lulu's version of "The First of May" is unequaled. My deepest thanks to them. I can't conceive of a more authentic, deeply felt, spontaneous expression of profound emotion.
Interestingly enough when I was a teenager I had a huge crush on Barry and Andy. However, since I’ve gone down the rabbit hole of watching everything Bee Gees recently I have switched my attention to Maurice! He’s so talented, has seemed to always be the peacemaker, and is truly funny and engaging. What an amazing man! Watching him talking about his struggles with alcohol and recovery is amazing and shows how strong and committed he is to being healthy and a good husband and father over anything else. I think he doesn’t mind being in his own space on stage while the others stand in the spotlight. I love him!
I think in some ways, that is what Maurice did on purpose. He left the other two to be the more popular ones, while in the background, he was stealing the show. Maybe he was shy and didn't like the limelight to be on him, I don't know. Maybe that is why he turned to alcohol and drugs, to hide his own insecurities. Whatever it was, he was the unseen cog that made the BeeGees wheel roll so smoothly.
I love Maurice...he is gorgeous and what a wonderful voice! He is awesome and so talented! Beautiful family and my type of guy! His son and daughter are beautiful! He and Robin and Andy are so missed!
@@janicesnyder9305 Wasn't it just alcohol regarding Maurice? Not that wasn't an issue, but I think it was Andy that was the most insecure one who turned to drugs to cope if memory serves.
Maurice Gibb voice is just amazing, he was so talented with his singing and instrument playing. I can't believe he died just two years after this consort. R.I.P. Maurice
Andy, Maurice, Robin R.I.P Imagine all the songs we have missed. Their catalogue is huge, even though all died too young. Just imagine how much the world has lost. Music is really the only thing that transcends all the crap in this world.
Growing up I lives this group and thought Barry was so handsome but as he got older Maurice was really attractive and had a great smile. I heard an interview where he discussed his drinking problems and he was so humble and down to earth.
All the brothers had beautiful voices in there own right, BUT when they sang together Wow Nobody could beat there Harmony. Needless to say I've loved the BeeGees from the start ❤
Maurice had a lovely voice mostly Barry and robin did lead on most their songs it makes a change for Maurice to do lead all three brothers had brilliant voices couldn't imagine bee gees without any of the brothers they were very clever songwriters
Dear Maurice, you were like the good wine : you became better and charmer by the years ! You also showed more character , self-confidence and personal type perhaps due to the external changes of your looks and your smile became brighter, your voice deeper , which added much to your image ! I was raised with your music and I’ll never stop listening to you and your brothers as long as I live ! Be well wherever you are all of you, on earth or in heaven !!!❤
Maurice Gibb's vocals in the Bee Gees sound was very similar to George Harrison in the Beatles. The third voice that makes the other two blend together.
No matter how much they talk u can still hear our great northern boys accent n kept it too, n for this and all they are we thank them u made us n still are making us all extremely proud especially in our home town of Manchester, great guys we knew and so humble n just cute in all they did n the funny we had, n here mo string n were he shud be, go our mo love it. Maurice spoke in a conversation with Lynn Redgrave about his alcohol addiction and his going to rehab and living the sober life since (vid on YT). Once you know about it, and that he was drunk on stage most nights until he sobered up, you can see the difference in him in performances after 1993. He's more animated and into his music. Listen to the words to this. He wrote it shortly after he got sober.
Idk why they didn’t let Maurice sing more .. I never even realized how little he did sing until watching RU-vid videos some songs he literally doesn’t sing the whole time … like ,”what the heck ?” his voice was good just different..
It's great pleasure to hear Maurice Gibb's voice for a change from the the bee gees. His voice is less squeaky than Barry's. Overall all the brothers are good singers (like it or not Barry's voice is unique compared to all other musicians' voices)
Maurice was all ways my favorite one. I just loved his humor and his boyish smile. To me he was the best looking one of the three. As soon as I saw a picture of him way back in my youth I fell in love with. I cried when he die. I couldn’t believe he was gone way too soon. What a shock that was. Rest In Peace Maurice 🙏❤️❤️🙏🙏🙏❤️❤️🙏🙏
I wish he had sang more lead. This is the first time I actually got to hear his voice. Such a shame to have had it hidden as a backup. Yes, Barry has an amazing voice, can't get enough, but Maurice had a wonderful deeper, sexy voice.
All three are perfect in their own ways totally different voices barry is one of a kind maurices song is one of my favorite and whats most interesting is that my no 1 in bee gees was Robins voice 😎
Добряк. Всегда весёлый, улыбка обворожительная, голос бархатный, скромный, располагает к себе. Очень обидно, что век его оказался столь короток.Респект МОРИСУ.
These 3 were always very good at saying suggestive things that got the ladies imaginations going. In almost every interview or concert they did that. They knew how to work the female fans. And let’s face it, it’s good business.
Hi 👋 I carnt stop 🛑 listening to this I just luv it fantastic well done 👍 mo u r missed so much all of u .thank u for all the wonderful music u have brought us we luv u xx 😘 🌹❤️👍
