As a former educator I’m a big believer in people having different types of intelligences…there is info online that lists the different types. I might have a degree but I could never do what you do, so don’t sell yourself short. Everyone has gifts! Since you can’t hear my voice I’ll just let you know that this is all said with a bad, nasally Wisconsin accent. 😂
Thanks for your honesty and vulnerability Brian. You are doing a fantastic job with your channel. Keep going forward💪💪 All the hard work you put in is evident and appreciated. Fan from NZ. 🥰🥰🙏🙏
Remember be kind to yourself and know that the world needs all kinds of people. I’m a neurodivergent psychotherapist and I could never do what you do. I’m painfully shy 🙈. everyone has things they are good at. Thanks for sharing your thoughts and feelings.
Only 1 juror has reached out. More jurors need to come forward and feel comfortable doing so. Will be crazy to see Jackson, Yannti and Bev as witnesses. LawTubers are awesome. ❤
You're so incredibly humble! I have a paralegal degree that just collects dust! I beat myself up about it all the time! I do have experience in the law firm a few years but now I have to start all over again! I won't get the benefits or pay that a paralegal makes because I didn't stick with it there's no consistency throughout. Don't beat yourself up over not going through with law school. You tried, it wasn't for you. Think of it as God has something different planned for you! I hope YOU out of most of these creators has success on your channel!
Degrees don't make people intelligent, getting after and learning about what you love, does. You don't need a university, all you need is a thirst for knowledge.
He’s not the only one that needs to be fired! Hey, at least we got the good news about Proctor and today, they announced that Kevin Albert (Proctor’s cruiser drinking, “lost my gun in your cah” friend) was put on leave June 13th & being investigated due to “a case he worked with Proctor 2 years ago” 🎉🎉🎉 I truly hope this lights a fire under the asses if every citizen to stop allowing these creeps to slide! We need to stand up, TOGETHER, and raise the bar collectively. Power to the people!!!!
Darn, I can’t watch the livestream while rewatching. But that’s fine. I really enjoy your channel, your transparency and your integrity. Happy to have found you. I enjoy voices of “the regular guy.” Keep going, friend. Your voice brings a different perspective and it’s good to hear. 😊
Don't be too hard on yourself. I love your honesty and genuine dedication. Street smart kids does not need a degree. Passion and will to succeed is admirable in my eyes. Best wishes with everything you believe in. Dont give up.
Only 12 minutes in, but wanted to say as a new subscriber, I'm really enjoying your videos. I've followed a small handful of Lawtubers for a few years now, but I really appreciate your take on things from a alternative perspective. You've found your own niche, and you do an impressive job, so please don't ever feel less than equal. Different approaches can absolutely be equal! Glad I found your channel! Now back to the show for me! 😊
Can you imagine being a juror & now that your part is done, being able to see the mass of information out there about the case that they weren't privy to before? I'd be curious to know if any of the ones that were thinking guilty on the second charge are now going "oh crap....."
I heard from someone who was supposedly a prior friend of Karen’s that said Paul and Peggy okeefe were estranged from John as in they didn’t talk regularly if hardly at all ever… which explains so much!!!!
New sub! I’m from Boston and do not have hope that the corrupt cops/state troopers will pay their due. Proctor took an oath to serve and protect. I’d bet he doesn’t take his marriage vows seriously! He is disgusting and vile! I needed assistance from a state trooper. He yelled and swore at me. I circled back to him and told his superior what happened. All along feeling the state trooper would not get reprimanded.
Agree with all you said. I’m from Uk - what needs to be clearer is defund the police does not mean abolish the police -before the USA divides about guns you should all want corrupt cops fired with no relocation or pension. Moving corrupt cops reminds me of the Catholic Church -
9:36 everyone of his cases need to be re-opened and checked to make sure nothing like this happ6in his other cases. We all know he is will to lock up innocent people just to close a case to looks like heros
I follow your channel because you come across as an honest guy who is hard working and passionate about what you believe in. I have a lot of respect for you and the community you are building. Don’t sell yourself short. You have a lot to offer your community. I think with you covering Sandra Birchmore and talking about some other issues that mean a lot to you, your channel will only continue to grow. It takes a lot of work to build a channel while working full time. I couldn’t do it.
When I was in school I worked in the office of the Basic Law Enforcement training center. They go thru a couple months of training and a lot of it is physical stuff. Afterwards they go find jobs at local pd. I’m in small town in NC. I’ve always said they need far more training covering way more topics, including how to deal with people with mental health issues. It’s absolutely insane to me how little is required to work in LEO!
Listen, we all bring something to the table in whatever area of knowledge we speak of, some may have degrees and some may have life experiences. I battled an opiate addiction for 15 years and went thru things most people would know nothing about. Now after 12 years clean I council those in active addiction and even thou I have no degree, and I’m not a “licensed mental health” counselor the people I help listen and many will tell you they take what I say to heart because I’ve been in the trenches before. Moral of the story, you don’t have to be a lawyer to be valuable to others, you have a wonderful personality and you’re very smart. Be easy on yourself friend! 💗
Before the Johnny/Heard trial, EDB had about 200k followers. She now has somewhere around 700k. Peter Tragos built virtually his entire audience during that same time and so did Legal Bytes and Uncivil Law. You might talk with them behind the scenes to get some tips and advice for how they grew their audiences, what worked, what didn't, etc. If you pick a genre (and it seems you have) and stick with it, you can totally build this up. You may not be a lawyer but you're an expert on this case and you can become an expert on other cases. You can also do other creative non-legal coverage. Melanie Little's dog bite expert is a great example of value someone can bring to true crime without a law degree. Each case brings up totally random issues and topics that can be covered: crime scene standards (Karen Read), dissociative identity disorder (Leticia Stauch), Odinism (Richard Allen), genealogical DNA (Kohberger), false confessions and jailhouse snitches (too many cases), trauma responses (Danielle Redcliffe), the cam model industry (Grant Amato), and the psychological reasons for the increasing number of dismemberment cases (Chandler Halderson) are a few random topics from recent cases. There are experts in all of these areas making YT content. Stick with it, collab with others, continue bringing folks on your channel, go on other true crime and LawTube channels as an expert on this case and Birchmore and Walshe. Start following other cases as they come up so you can be an expert on those when the trials come around. You can do this!
I think you'd be surprised at how many LawTubers did not come from privileged backgrounds and graduated with 6 digit student loans. Many are neurodivergent, ADHD, Dyslexia, Autism or being on the spectrum. They learned how their brain worked best when it came to learning, ignored people calling them too stupid to achieve their goals and just did it. The biggest limitations in life are ones we place on ourselves.
The logic of a manslaughter conviction but an acquittal on the other two counts would be that she hit him but didn’t know she’d hit him. If she didn’t hit him on purpose, it’s not murder, and if she didn’t know she’d hit him, it’s not leaving the scene. I still struggle to understand how anybody could think the CW proved a car crash beyond a reasonable doubt-not only in light of the ARCCA evidence but also the pathologists’ and the unanimous agreement of all twelve people who looked at, walked across, or drove past the lawn, that there wasn’t a body there. But assuming there *was* a collision, the logic of a DUI manslaughter conviction and an acquittal on the other charges is fairly straightforward.
What’s really disturbing about the quote Proctor made in court, that alone should of been a not guilty verdict. There was such overwhelming reasonable doubt I couldn’t keep up. The reasonable doubt plus the Arrca experts who proved no car was involved in John’s death should of been all the evidence the jurors needed for Not Guilty!! Each charge involved a car. No car - Not Guilty!! I’m really struggling with the hung jury. I think about the thousands of people who are serving long sentences in prison who didn’t get a fair trial. One I can share here is Sandra Melgar. Sentenced to 25 years on a theory of the prosecution. A theory with zero evidence. She’s now been in prison for 10 years. I also think the Judge sustained far to many objections by Lally that were reasonable questions asked by Jackson. We needed those questions answered!
Everyone, except a very precious few, has had a hard life. Not all the LawTubers have had it easy either. Find your passion, work hard, don't drag others down -- unless they are like Proctor, deserving of being publicly shamed & ostracized. Imagine a world where everyone can only be either a lawyer or doctor -- who would fix the plumbing?! I work for a GOOD attorney, and as much as I envy the opportunities she had and the comfortable lifestyle she has, I don't envy her job. Remember, there's a lot of folks who look at you and what you do and envy you!! 💜
It’s true that Proctor’s texts didn’t impact the integrity of the investigation. He could have said all that stuff and still investigated the matter properly. What impacted the integrity of the investigation was: -Acting in a matter despite having a major conflict of interest. -Lying under oath about the existence of that conflict of interest. -Never securing or comprehensively searching the crime scene. -Not doing any of the things necessary for an adequate collision reconstruction, to wit: measuring and recording the location of debris; attempting to determine exactly where the victim was found; interviewing everyone he had reason to think might be an eyewitness; canvassing for Ring footage; attempting to determine the exact cause of O’Keefe’s head injury by searching for biological material on the road, curb, etc.; photographing the suspect vehicle before seizing it; checking the road for tire and shoe markings to ascertain the likely point of impact… I submit to you that these flagrant errors were not the result of negligence. Proctor had investigated car crashes before. -Not logging in evidence items for weeks on end. -Never considering any alternative theories of how O’Keefe was killed -Improperly pressuring the medical examiner -Lying in a police report, saying that Fairview wasn’t plowed in order to justify not interviewing Lucky Loughran, whose statement would probably be exculpatory for Ms Read -Omitting Colin Albert’s name from police reports, despite including other party attendees who’d left before Colin (officially) did -Agreeing to accept a reward from Colin's mother, a witness And that’s just the stuff that can currently be proven. The texts, cruel and degrading as they are, are really just *evidence* of why this experienced(ish) detective seemingly did the exact opposite of what a detective is supposed to do when investigating a car accident.
The bench was explicate in her instructions Don’t tell me or or anyone else your decisions or split until you are unanimous on all the questions That’s plural And that exactly what they did They where not unanimous on all the questions so didn’t declare to the judge at that point (by ticking boxes) their decisions ie unanimous on 1 & 3 expecting further instruction Not only was the form unclear, but the judges instructions are extraordinarily directed to doing what they did Let’s remember this is a judge who did not want the option of a not guilty box
There are good and bad in every profession we all know that. A corrupt police officer or group of officers with so much unchecked power is a very dangerous situation
We can't be 💯 every minute of everyday! Love your channel and anyone who can't get past it is not worth it! Every law tuber I'm sure has made their own mistakes or said something they shouldn't have at one time or another. Don't beat yourself up! You've apologized now move on!
Even worse, Peggy laughed! I feel for her having lost her kids. But I think she’s not a good person. I don’t care how much you hate someone, you don’t laugh at disgusting things like that and you shouldn’t be happy framing them.
I'M GLAD KURT @ UNCIVIL LAW CAME ON PANEL.. I'VE HEARD OTHER LAWYERS SAY THAT THIS MOTION IS BASED ON JUROR HEARSAY AND IS A NOTHING BURGER..I SERIOUSLY DIDN'T UNDERSTAND WHAT ALL THE FUSS WAS ABOUT ..🍔🍔🍔
i was disappointed with Arcca too I understood what they were saying but I thought there would have been more explanation as to why. But I think the judge just wouldn't let a lot of stuff in.
Disagree that any lawyer could come to that conclusion that she was guilty. There is no way beyond any any reasonable doubt that she is even guilty. This was unfortunately a very bad situation getting worse this conclusion.
Ive heard a handful of trial attorneys all say that juors very often tell fibs about what happened in deliberations. In my opinion, "it was a bully match after the tuey-rodriguez charge" translates to, "after the tuey-rodriguez charge the other jurors became very hostile towards myself and the other not-guilty votes, which was very upsetting and felt like i was being bullied." Tensions were likely very high, which could explain the very respecful and descriptive notes saying stuff like "we are unable to agree due to our deeply held convictions". Lastly, i cant imagine any reason at all for why a jury would be offered counselling at the end of jury duty....besides a nanny judge like bev offering it to a very upset or disturbed juror that did not get the verdict they felt was correct. TB reported on one woman juror that looked visibly upset on multiple days.
Think about this one for a moment remember the little girl Sandra that's supposedly unalived herself well is it coincidental that he also said that about Karen he wished she would unalived herself glad they are reopening that case ❤
I think the jury was stuck k on the drink driving charge & what they may have been split on & not anything to do with her hitting John with the suv? The forms & instructions ect were extremely confusing & I'm wondering if that particular charge is instructed with it meaning she was guilty of actually hitting him with her car only & not allowing or giving them the option on the forms for them to just find her guilty of the drink driving without her ever having struck him?
Proctor is still a rookie and he doesn't have enough time on the job to be vested for a full pension, so he's screwed. I wonder how long Lizzy will "stand by her husband"
1:15:54 I can only thing of the judge saying start the chain of events. Which is crazy u drop someone off . An there killed now thata ur fault cause u didnt babysit them
i don't know why people say the jury is smart. Seem kinda dumb to me. Not only did they not acquit but they also didn't bother telling anyone they came to a verdict on two counts. Like how do you eff up that bad.
Proctor is a bad person. He can’t even bring himself to properly feign contrition (mind you, that might be a product of Adam Lally’s coaching; he isn’t a good person either). Here’s what he should have said: “I am embarrassed and deeply ashamed of my words. They did reflect poorly on the badge, and a person reading them, if they didn’t know me, could infer that I was biased against Ms. Read. That is not so. In this case, as in every case, I did my best to be objective and gather the facts as I would in any other case. While I meant them in jest and believed I was speaking in private, my words were cruel, demeaning, offensive and dehumanizing. I cannot erase my words, but whatever Ms. Read did or did not do, I hope she will accept this explanation and this apology.” I mean, he wouldn’t have been able to get through all of it at once, but that should have been the line: “my words were offensive and inexcusable; I am ashamed of them; and I apologize.” He wasn’t up to it, because, *unbelievably*, he doesn't think he did anything wrong. Here's what he should have said about the "nudes": “I was working late that night and I meant that remark as a joke. In hindsight, I recognize that it was more than just offensive; it made it appear that I was biased against the defendant and that I exceeded my authority under the search warrant. I was not biased and I did not exceed my authority; I didn’t search Ms. Read’s photos at all. That remark was grossly inappropriate, I’m ashamed that I made it, and I apologize to Ms. Read for saying it.”
