Massachusetts Institute of Technology will host a virtual press conference with Professor Daron Acemoglu, Professor Simon Johnson PhD '89 and President Sally Kornbluth following the announcement that Acemoglu and Johnson have received the Nobel Prize in Economics.
This year, Daron Acemoglu, Simon Johnson and James Robinson have been awarded the 2024 Nobel Prize for Economic Sciences “for studies of how institutions are formed and affect prosperity." The prestigious award, formally known as the Sveriges Riksbank Prize in Economic Sciences in Memory of Alfred Nobel, is the final prize to be given out this year and is worth 11 million Swedish crowns ($1.1 million).

They should have given the prize to Dambisa Moyo for her research into the unfunctional, totalitarian and corrupt economies of former colonial countries. She has proven that the Western aid never had any positive result but made these countries professional beggars.

why 99% of time, nobel prize awards to the their own people? they control anything. your jobs, your money, your ideas, how many kids you have, foods is on your table and so forth. even internet, ecommerce, searching engines, wireless communication protocols, chips, commercial laws, patents, certifications and basic everything else, is controlled by a handful countries and companies. that is scary!

@@guruteja7151 Willie Brown certainly thought highly of her attributes. Not much of a recommendation but for those who think she is a viable candidate, it doesn't appear to take much, that they will vote for someone who didn't get one vote previous. Kind regards.
