This is an Amazing song. The first time I heard it was on "The Shield" at the end of the money train episode. It gave me chills then and ever since. My father requested this song be played at his wake. R.I.P. Dad I Miss you and Love you so much.
I remember watching him sing at night 2 or 3 days after 9/11. He was in the rubble singing this song and I think it was MTV who played it. One of those things I'll never forget about that.
This song gives me goosebumps every time I listen to it. It's hard to believe I was so young when 9/11 occurred and I had no idea what was going on when my school was evacuated. May those who lost their lives on that day rest in peace and may we never forget this tragedy that struck America
This is the final song I played for my dad 2 days before he ended up in the hospital. He died 5days later on Jan. 3rd, 2010. The cause was aspiration pneumonia; “Holy water in my lungs” took on new meaning for me.
Heard this as a little boy after 9/11 and like the images of that day this song never let me go. The song the 9/11 video with it made a deep impact know every word ever since. Every year somewhere around 9/11 i come back to this video
I first saw this video, on a documentary about 9/11 shortly after the event itself on one of the learning/discovery/history channels. Particularly due to when I saw it, and just how beautiful it is, it brought me to tears. I will never forget watching that.
I was in my early 40s, and this song helped me overcome all the diversity in my life. All it takes is a moment in time. Pray for it, and it Will happen. CAMERON.
....for me, there are SEVERAL more: "This Part Of Town" - Widespread Panic (MASSIVELY) "Love Calling Earth" - Robbie Williams, "Save Me" - Remy Zero (theme from 'Smallville') and of COURSE, the COMMONLY-associated "Safe & Sound" by Sheryl Crow (MUCH of her album C'mon C'mon, COMPARABLY evokes that day.....)
They played this on tv on the evening of September 11th, after the towers came down. It captured what everyone was feeling that day. Took my breath away.
I can remember sitting up cause I couldn't sleep. My brain was WFO as I sat staring a the tv. It had been the scariest day I remember ever living through. There was so much to take in and try to make sense of. This song came on and the flood gates in my eyes opened. And for hours I sat alone sobbing.
@@carlakennison29 : at least COMPARABLE are their BEST moments in quality - Mental Jewelry - LIKE A Rush Of Blood To The Head, was a BIG game changer.....
Such a one-sided commend. How about all the civilian cassualties that died due to the US intervention in Iraq? Or the people that died in right-wing dictatorships supported by the US in Latin-America?
@@timoverdijk3176 we topple more democracies than any other country. We have got to stop the military industrial complex and end the endless wars. But you don't know if this guy is like that. So no reason to insult him.
i always associate this song to that day. i was driving to work after hearing about what happened and the radio station spliced this song with audio from news reports, it made the whole thing seem more powerful and so moving
Live is such a great but underestimated band. Throwing Copper was a masterpiece and we had to try and do one song from it. Hope you will enjoy our take on it : ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-Bez5pTdoRaA.html

I Loooove his hair and this heartbreaking video that hits it deep ground zero of our souls. So blessed to have music like this in our world as it tantalizes our hearts with all our emotions colliding and hoping that the message will get through.
World peace is not possible as long as their is hatred in the heart, and disorder among the created order. But nothing within us, or without us in this present world can solve the problem. Until a personal-Infiinite power gives final redemption to the entire universe, war will always be.
I had just finisned my 5 years in the Foreign Legion, and I thoiught that I had seen enough violence. Then This happened... I felt really sad. No words could say what I felt. Really. And I saw this video where my favorite band sung overcome. I had taken lives as a sniper in 2.REP. Suddenly it came to me. I would never kill a human being. This was just too much to take. I felt for everyone touched by this insane act. I'm stil searching for that footage played in the major networks toi raise money
first time i heard this was after 9/11 a day i will always remember the day i chose to dedicate my life to defending our great nation altho i was only in 7th grade my mind was made up and after 10 years i finaly find this song again....almost brings a tear to my eye and reminds me why i joined its not for the government....its for the people my family my friends all the poor souls that were lost on that sad day...
@evklinken true... you could fill albums with songs about tragedy's caused by usa... but this way it stays under the attention of the whole world and that's a good thing..
