Years ago I got stopped at a DUI checkpoint. My buddy was so drunk, he wasn't aware I had stopped drinking well before we left the strip club. Once we got close enough to see all the lights were a checkpoint, not an accident scene, he was freaking out "Gun it! Go! Go! They can't catch us!" I didn't. A massive state trooper had had me get out for a breathalyzer. Buddy gets out too like he's going to fight them or run! He wouldn't listen to the 6'7" 300+lb officer who was getting mad! He looked down at me and said "Can you get him in the car?" I convinced him to sit back inside. I have no idea what my reading was, but the cop stared at it for a while then looked back at me and Finally said "Ok, get out of here." He let me help diffuse the situation instead of taking my buddy to jail...
