Chicago Hip Hop Heritage Museum x Marsz Flight - Vice (Performance)
Vice Verse aka Vice..MC/songwriter from the southside Of Chicago,Illinois .A Master Jedi,Seasoned swordsman. A Dart thrower with the lethal pen,Vice started taking rhyming/MC'n seriously while attending Jackson State University. It was there he became a part of The Stewpot Stowaways. A conglomerate of rappers from Chicago,Detroit,Flint,Milwaukee and even Nigeria,Africa. They were called the Jackson Wu-Tang for the energy they showed in their live shows. Vice left JSU and returned to Chicago,which was booming with open mics all over the city. It was at these open mic's that Vice got his name known and a reputation for being able to freestyle off the top and hold his own in the many cyphers that took place all over the city. In 2001 Vice joined forces with Tony Baines of the Splanays and Lid Law to form the Jrunk Unklz. The Jrunk Unklz would quickly gain attention and would open up for every major act that came to Chicago,all this was done without a single..just off the strength of their live stage show. In 2006 Vice's cousin Dj Scrap would invite him to Detroit to work with Young RJ from B.R. Gunna and this meeting would change the trajectory of Vice's career.
He started working with Slum Village,even writing songs for the historic group while working on his album V-Files. During this time T3 would start a crew called The Dirty Slums which featured Vice, T3, Illa J, Rapper Big Pooh, Focus, and Young RJ.They would drop two mixtapes Dirty Slums 1 and 2 which garnered almost 500,000 downloads together. In 2013 Vice was featured on The Yancey Boys Sunset Blvd. album where every song was produced by J Dilla..The song Fisherman which featured Vice would be chosen as the first single.The same year Vice was featured on The Slum Village album Evolution and dropped the mixtape v2 which had 300,000 downloads on datpiff getting a bronze medal from the historic site. The last 4 years Vice has dropped 3 albums Smoke&Mirrors,V3 which was produced entirely by T3 of Slum Village...and just recently Life Lines..the latter has been described by many as Vice's best work to date. In his career Vice has opened up for Slum Village, Rapper Big Pooh, Rakim, Big Daddy Kane. Slick Rick, Dana Dane, Method Man, Boot Camp Clique, John Legend, The Isley Brothers, Mint Condition, Roger and Zapp and Frankie Beverly & Maze. Vice is Affiliated with The Unkz(Tony Baines & Lidlaw) formerly The Jrunk Unklz Dirty Slums(Slum Village, Rapper Big Pooh, Focus) The Dream Team(Illa J, T3, Rapper Big Pooh, DJ Scrap, Focus) and the historic Stewpot Stowaways (Jackson State University).
