Although I do not understand English, but I'm trying to learn I was watching until the end, I was delighted to see the works of Pablo Picasso. I loved the curator Anne Umland, a very kind and smiling person transmitting knowledge about art, waiting for more MOMA videos. A big hug from Recife, Brazil

It would be great to see live tours on the paintings as you did about Picasso today. It was super informative and so real though just on RU-vid. Looking forward to seeing next videos. Best regards from Russia.

That Gonzales-Torres piece is unforgettable. I first saw it at the Art Institute of Chicago. The action of taking a piece and knowing its deterioration and what it symbolized moved me to tears. Such a bummer about the Sophie Taeuber-Arp exhibition this year. :(

This wonderful video just helped me shift my career path! Ms. Umland is so intelligent, passionate, and seems like a delightful human. For any curators or related art museum staff out there, would one recommend a double major in Marketing and Art History or Management and Art History to help aid in job competition?

Thanks so much for your question! Here's a response from Anne: "Dear Avery, I'm so glad you enjoyed the Live Q&A and shared your question. Having management, business, or marketing experience, in addition to an art history background, can never hurt. On the other hand, immersing yourself in one field and developing a specialty, exploring career possibilities via internships, and then going on for another degree in a different field with a clear sense of purpose regarding what you want to achieve might prove more satisfying in the long run. I wish you good luck, and thank you for being in touch."

To provide a bit of context to my question, I visited the British Museum recently which, while not strictly an Art Museum, had an interesting section of gallery space. While most of the museum was blank, leaving the focus solely on the artefacts, one of the sections was styled like the original 19th Century museum with bookcases, bringing the history of the museum closer to the fore. In the Louvre the ceilings often maintain the Rococo and gilded paintings, to again highlight the building's history pre-revolution. Does MoMA feature elements in this way that highlight the building or institution rather than the artwork?

As you said, "I wanted to be an Artist" but you were not anything good at that. Were you able to paint and what was the outcome? Do you have the photo of your work. Bec I am now painting but I dont know if my work is good at all, so I'm looking for gallery to send my work to, otherwise I may have to resort to solo exhibition
