Now I call Race Control out for an absurd penalty assessed to the Audi for getting pinched off in the corner! Just a couple races ago, the Mustang and McLaren battle, the exact same scenario occurred, However, the result was much different. The Mustang, who had led every lap of the race practically, got knocked out of 1st, spun and lost 2 positions on the next to last lap. No penalties were issued at all! Seems like some double standards at play by those at the helm of Race Control. ??? That's how that appears to a spectator, and especially one who scrutinizes how several different sanctioning bodies regulate and deliberate such decision making. This one left me scratching my head. Should've been called the same, the outside car didn't leave the inside line open, therefore he didnt allow any room for racing at the apex. That was the call against the Mustang in the prior. Still only deemed a "Racing Incident" and no penalty was given. I'm waiting to hear the penalty still, but that kinda pisses me off. I've mentioned before, there needs to be clearer regs on this particular issue. IMSA doesn't allow this type of overtake, unless it's absolutely clean and entirely without incident. There are rules though. The attacking inside car must be well alongside the outside car, at least up to and along the front fender, but no less than the front door, but not into the rear door are and quarter panel! You're not there yet! Now the overtaker turns into a Bonsai Pilot, taking out, or knocking down, their opponent. That's dirty! I would like to see that clearly specified! Great Racing! 👍🏻👍🏻
