Review of the Cold Steel Gentleman's Stockman in brown jig bone. A Sowbelly that looks a whole lot like a RR. Closed Length 3-3/4". UK Friendly. #thriftykaniffy
I didn’t know Cold Steel was dabbling back into traditional knives. I know they made some back in the day. Good looking sowbelly, the yellow bone seems to be my favorite. Sorry I missed the live!
Cold Steele used to produce marvellous San Mai veneer in a few fixed blades like the R1 and various Tantos. RR/SMKC might well be subcontracting to them. I really like to see dark earthy reds and browns in a traditional knife cover.
Nice looking sowbelly TK. It looks well built. I like the nice , clean look of it. If only it had plain nail nicks, I think it would set it apart from all the others. But I do like it. That other one on the table ain't too shabby either.👍👍
HH do carry Cold Steel these traditional knives have arrived recently hence me finding this video :) thanks for the review. Ps we are paying closer to $50 over here
Missed live chat utube not notifying me about some videos lately, like the Cold Steel knife and agree bolsters nice as they are not to fancy, I can live without badges too, covers look good and pocket friendly size.
No, I believe it has a s frame with delrin covers like the trail boss 2. Cold steel UK says sk5 blades ,where as it says 8cr13mov over your side of the pond. Hope this helps a bit 👍
It's measured in 1/10" because it's an all weather knife.🤣👍 Been looking at these on BHQ's coming soon list. But then I saw Rosecraft's offerings, trying to get a few of them first.
Similar, but with the exception of the steel... I haven't heard of traditional RR blades in 8cr. Which is significant because of different steels/metals require, not too different, but enough to notice, tooling. 🤔
Ehh it depends on the pattern I think with Case. Some are fine, some are not. They need a shot in the arm though. The pandemic seems to have really hurt them.
