Price action describes the characteristics of a security’s price movements. This movement is quite often analyzed with respect to price changes in the recent past. In simple terms, price action is a trading technique that allows a trader to read the market and make subjective trading decisions based on the recent and actual price movements, rather than relying solely on technical indicators.
The only people who know where the market is heading are institutions. They are the ones who make the market move and our job as retail traders is to follow their footsteps and get the piece of their movement. As price action traders we need to find the most profitable ways to enter trades. The highest probability setups are 2nd entries, its variations and confirmations setups at the key entry points.

I accidentally took the 2EL into news thinking it wouldnt be impactful but i was wrong and got stopped out. Also got trapped on that 2EL that failed but we cannot expect to win everytime. Unfortunately missed the HL setup, however, did take that 2EL F2ES trade to make back some off the losses. Its great seeing another trader like yourself viewing the market in a similar way to myself and being able to reflect on the losers, especially when I end on a red day. Well done Thomas and keep it up 👍

currently using this strategy and hoping to see further long term progress with this. finally found a strategy that suits me as i dont have much time to look at the charts and i prefer scalp trading.

Great analysis as usual. Thanks Thomas. Just wondering why you neglected to draw the wider downtrend at the start of the day top of the trading range overnight high. I learned from you that when you expect a larger correction, make the channel wider by connecting the first 2 swings and then extend down. The tighter channel you drew is a sub channel of the main channel. The wider channel also fits perfectly with at least 5 swing highs and 2 swing lows all touching, and just provides a little more information. Albeit, the wider channel doesn't get a new extreme, but there was no decent short setup either way.

Higher timeframe 10k tick chart helped me to draw it tighter. Also as the bullish spike and channel formed, it didn't look like bears are about to test the new low. So overall structure didn't behave as there was wider downtrend.

Slow day, also break even. I'm using a different charting platform so my 2000 tick chart does not even the same setups exactly. The first 2EL trade here was not 2EL on my chart.

I see you are targeting 10 ticks for the majority of the contracts, and about 12 or more ticks as the SL. From what I understand, stop goes one tick below the signal bar. I am looking at Nifty 50 (India) futures chart and am trying to establish how much ticks I can target for a scalper’s profit. Can you help me and have a look at the Nifty 50 June FUTures chart and share what you think a good target should be in terms of ticks?

Hey Thomas. It almost always happens that the break of an uptrend makes a new extreme above. But in today's trade, you took a great trade yet still got stopped out even though there was supposed to be an extreme made for the break of two uptrends. Could you explain why that happened and how we could have anticipated that?

Nothing in trading is 100%. You cannot have 100% win rate. 8 or 9 times out of ten it will get new high. Sometimes it won't. Our goal as traders is to have an edge over large number of trades. Main thing is that the wider downtrend needed new low.

In past videos, you have talked about not taking 2ES/2EL setup because of the "wobble candle" (Which is what my ears hear). It seems that you are talking about doji candles when you say that, but then in other videos, you don't seem to mention them at all. Does a doji bring a lower probability to 2ES/2EL, or do they not carry much significance for the setup? Curious as I'm trying to perfect this strat - I love it! Also took all the same trades today, with the exception of the 2EL right before the news! got very lucky and got 1 1-point scalp at seconds before the breakdown!

Doji candles are too neutral and most of the time not a good signal bar. To go long you want nice strong bull bar and vice versa for shorts. Sometimes when context is really good, doji can be considered but most of the time, we skip doji signal bar.
