You sure can hunt it the first time. When I started palkia and dialga it was the first time. I got palkia at that point. Eventually played through diamond to have more mons so by the time I got dialga it was post game

Yeah friend. Most people that hunted through gen 7 are aware of that method. It can certainly be useful in some situations but to be fair, in the 100+ shinies I’ve I gotten this year, this was the only I had to masterball so it will rarely be ‘needed’

For reference, did you do this during the story or after Elite 4?

You can do either friend. To do it after the elite four you must ko it during the story

It allows you to save when/if a shiny shows up, some people do it, some people aren’t fans of saving the shiny

Yes. This often happens if you’re spamming buttons while the game is loading. It can still happen otherwise though the spamming makes it happen far more

Heck yeah friend! These days I use software to auto count for me. However a simple counter app on your iPhone when you’re just hunting without recording works great! Adrive even has an app you can use specifically for hunting

Ummm hard to say exactly. But the resets are like 40-50 seconds. So like between 91 & 114 hours of hunting

@@jacobrobert0 thanks. But i think this one wants to give me a hard time. But somehow i deserve this. In my first game i was still pretty young (roughly 11 or 12 years old) and didn't give a crap about cheating so i had a cheat module and used the "all wild pokemon are shiny" cheat back then. It wasn't to show off to my friends but mostly because i had a time limit each day for console usage. Rule from my parents so that i dont neglect my study time. So i didnt want to waste my time for the hunt. And since i was admitting that it was not legit none of my friends seemed to mind too. One went even so far as to steal my first diamond edition. Never learned who it was tbh. So well i think thats some sort of "divine punishment" for cheating back then. Since my time on switch everything is legit though. Sadly my two old legit shiny from y and moon doesnt count into that since i cloned them for a friend and i dont know which one of us has the clone.

I honestly don’t remember. But you can just times your time by 4 to get my rough time. Awesome shiny though, excited for you to get it!
