In this series of livestreams, I attempt to make a ISS and ham radio satellite QSO while answering your question about satellite communications!

Rob, that had to be a blast to make the contacts from that location ! I noticed this time that your only using the one radio.... some operators use two..... any reason or preference ? Thanks for sharing !!

It really was! For FM satellites, if you have a full duplex radio where you can hear yourself in the downlink, a single radio is all you need. The IC-2730 fits the bill. A lot of folks use 2 radios for linear satellites because there are few SSB full duplex radios available, especially for portable use. Thanks for watching and commenting! 73

I see some kind of a satellite erratically orbiting in front of your camera right now and Iat 3:50. I guess that satellite may not have gotten the word when you put out the notification to 'get the heck out of the way of my camera' 🌞 ok 4:00 the satellite was objecting but it got moved out of the way. 4:43 some more erracticly orbiting satellites entered the picture again. Thank you for this video.
