Dear Sir, you demo is great. I have a confusing thing on guitar amplifier. Normal we use external microphone to catch the sound from guitar amplifier. Can't we use headphone output of the amplifier to fix directly to the mixer???? What is the next option? Any additional out put from amplifier instead headphone?? Thanks
@piratedprivacy9052
@piratedprivacy9052 3 года назад
The audio quality from a cheap/basic/built-in headphone preamplifier is typically not suitable to be routed to the Mixer Input to be mixed & amplified for the context of FOH, not to mention with impedance mismatch issues... If the guitar has Line/Mix-Out you can try those. Likewise some models do have a Pre-Out & Amp-In LOOP, that too can be manipulated... Better guitar amplifier do have some DI-Out built in. Use that to connect to the Mixer. Or you can invest in an DI Box which sits in between your Guitar Output and the Guitar Amplifier. This DI Box BAL signal can then be routed to the Mixer. Also to mention that some higher end FX-Pedal do have DI-Out and/or LineOut too...

Thank you guys for the video. I have a few questions. Why do you have a wireless mic in front of the QSC speaker on left? Q2: you mentioned running channel D to the left speaker. Being new to this, would channel D be a “send” as you’re sending audio to the speaker? Q3: What channel did you send to the right speaker? Q4: What channel did you use for your monitors? Q5: Did you daisy chain your subs to your loudspeakers or do you have a drive rack to separate the high, mid (monitors), and low? Q6: I see you stage master has 8 inputs (returns maybe -I may have it backwards) which are filled by 4 drum mics, lead and back up singer. So you have two channels left. However, you have a violinist, a saxophonist, pianist, and a guitarist. Did you mic any of those instruments? Did you run the keyboard directly to the mixing board? As we try to keep the stage clean, just wanted to see how you all connected everything. Thanks again and I hope to hear from you.
@ShirSoulMusic
@ShirSoulMusic 11 дней назад
Great questions! I’ll try to answer them as best I can… - That wireless mic is from the videographer who attached it to record the audio for his video. - Yes, A, B, C & D on this particular snake are output sends. - I don’t remember exactly which outputs I used for the right main speaker and for the monitors. It just depends on proximity on stage and keep the cables short and neat. - as for my 8 inputs, I do usually place the snake near the drumset, so 4 inputs immediately go to kick, snare and overhead left and right. As for the other 4 inputs, it always depends on what’s closest and what will keep the stage the nearest. Often it’s bass, keyboard, guitar and harmony vocals, but it always depends on how the stage is arranged. If I run out of inputs or outputs on the snake, I wire the rest direct to the board. It works really well. Hope that helps!

Dear Sir, your all demonstrations are pretty great and sounds congratulations!!! I am a beginner on electric guitar. When I fixed my guitar to amplifier there is a big hum ( ground loop).But if I touch strings then hum will fade away. The problem is that the power cable is a fixed one to the amplifier and it doesn't have a ground pin to connect to the 3 phase power socket. Only 2 pins plug. So have can I kill the hum???? thanks

Dear Sir, your demonstration is great. I have an unclear point about Parametric EQ and Graphic EQ. Always we use Graphic equalizer to eliminate feedback. But we don't use parametric EQ to treat feedback in professional way for live band. Can you explain the point???

You can optimize feedback-notching by incorporating pEQ with narrower bandwidth(high Q) to precisely remove offending freqencies...👍

Dear Sir, I have a puzzle on sound waves transformation between mic and our ear. When we sing to the mic, it converts acoustic transverse sound waves to electrical signal. Then it goes to the Mixer, Amplifier and finally comes to the speaker. Then speaker converts it back into acoustic sound waves. Then sound waves come to our ear and make vibratings on our ear drum. Then ear drum's nerves transform physical vibrations into a electrical signals which carry to the brain. I wish to know that, the electrical signal which is generated by mic and our ear is same in voltage????? Or different???? Mic generates elecrical signal on concept of electromagnetic induction. But our ear generates electrical signal in different way from mic. Do both electrical signals ( from mic and ear) are same in wave form???? And Voltage???? If you can explain briefly. Sorry for a long question!!!! Thanks!!!!!

Dear Sir, I want to know that about mastert fader position of the mixer. Should we need to bring the master fader always to unity gain( 0db) for live sound and recording??? When we bring the mastert fader to unity, Can't we change the position???? How can we set up the volume control of Amplifier according to mastert fader position???? Is there any rule??? Thanks!!
@ShirSoulMusic
@ShirSoulMusic 4 года назад
Not really. You should get away from that word “always”. It really depends on many factors, most important of which is how it sounds!

Dear Sir, thanks for your advisable explanations!!!! I asked one question from so many sound professionals but nobody able to give an answer to that question. This is the question: The all chanel faders strips have been labelled as -15, -10, -5,0+5,+10 db. I need to know what does it mean by - 15 and +15 db????? Specially - and + signs??? Why do they mention only between -15 and +15 db????? Someone told me that it is so complicated to understand. Is it true?????? Thanks!!!
@ShirSoulMusic
@ShirSoulMusic 4 года назад
It’s not difficult to explain/understand. 0 dB means the sound that is coming in (to the channel - mic/line, etc.) is not being boosted or cut at all. +5 dB means that the sound is being boosted by 5 decibels (making it sound louder). -10 dB means that it is being cut (reduced) by 10 dB (making it that much softer. It’s fairly simple. Those numbers indicate how much louder or softer you are making the sounds from their original source level. Hope that helps!

Dear Sir, I have an unclear point about 1/4 inch input jack connectors in mixing console. I want to know that whether we're can plug TS or TRS jacks? I need to clear out that these input are always mono???? If the 1/4 inch input connectors are mono, how can we plug stereo jack( if we need to fix a keyboard how can we use one channel??? Or need to use 2 channels to get the stereo picture???) I haven't seen plenty stereo inputs in console in general.
@OliverWagnerOliwerix
@OliverWagnerOliwerix 4 года назад
They are indeed TRS, but for balanced audio, not for stereo.
@praneethdhanushka207
@praneethdhanushka207 4 года назад
Dear Sir, I need to know l that when we use AUX sends to stage monitors, should we use TS (mono) or TRS ( stereo) quarter inch jack? Is AUX send is a mono or stereo output
@ShirSoulMusic
@ShirSoulMusic 3 года назад
For AUX sends, you would use TS cables (either XLR or 1/4"), depending on the outputs of your snake. AUX outs are generally mono, but you can use two of them to create an L/R stereo mix.
@piratedprivacy9052
@piratedprivacy9052 3 года назад
Stereo is not Balanced and Mono is not Unbalaned...😅 Aux Send typically is a BALANCED OUT with use of a 1/4" TRS phone plugs. If a 1/4" TS is used instead, it becomes a UNBALANCED connection. To choose between a BAL or UNBAL connection, it depends on the distance of the next piece of equipment eg. active powered stage monitors or PowerAmplifier. It also depends if the attached equipment fully support BAL Inputs... On the other hand, Auxes generally run in Mono(1 channel of Audio). However you could cleverly create a Stereo-Mix with Two(2) Aux Sends...

Dear Sir, I want know that, when we set the GAIN for Vocal and all Instruments, should we get the volume level indicator to unity gain (0db green bulb) always????? For all mics, guitars, drums????
@ShirSoulMusic
@ShirSoulMusic 4 года назад
Great question. Unfortunately, you may not love my answer. There is really no always in live sound. It all really depends on so many factors (volume, room size, room materials, number of mics and instruments on stage, monitoring, etc.). In general, leave a little more headroom than you think you need, as people often play louder throughout the night than they did at sound check...hope that helps!

The snake goes from the ins on the back of your mixer to the stage box which you generally place on stage. It’s basically a long extension cord for audio cables (helps you to keep all your cables relatively short on stage). Does that help?

@ShirSoulMusic
@ShirSoulMusic 3 года назад
Thanks so much for reaching out, Jason! Sounds like a fairly simple thing to do, all you would need is a snake like the one we used in this video (make sure you have enough length to cover the distance for your room). Then, all you would need to do is run the snake along a wall or under the floorboards, and secure the stage box in place with screws at your desired position. If you'd like, we provided a link to OUR snake in the description of this video. Let me know if you have any additional questions, and good luck!

Is there a delay by connecting the far speaker to the "D" return on the snake box? What if the snake is about 100 ft long?

Shouldn’t be any audio delay. XLR cables can run for many hundreds of feet without any issues.

Hey bro's so our church got renovated and one of the guys did the set up. I had a look and my question. is it possible to send a signal from the bord to the amp then from the amp through the snake return then to the speker it a first i seen it that way. So is it possible 🤔
@ShirSoulMusic
@ShirSoulMusic 3 года назад
Great question, Onio! I'm not sure exactly why you want to do this, but it sounds like it is doable. All you would need to do is run a cable from the board to the main speaker, then another cable from the out of the main speaker back to an input on the snake, and then you could control that "thru" on a different channel on your board. I assume you wanted to do this to mix the direct signal with an amplified signal to create a more "blended" sound in your mix, but I'd love to hear directly from you!

Dear Sir……. Lol bad joke, sorry ;) But I do have a question: with only 4 aux sends on the snake, does that mean if I’m using A and B for my mains, and C for the sub, that I’m only left with one (D) option for a stage wedge type monitor mix? Our drummer certainly isn’t going to want the same mix as my singers’…..I guess I could daisy-chain my mains, and free up aux B…but that seems lame :/
@ryandavis170
@ryandavis170 3 года назад
Or maybe I just get some 50’ xlr’s and don’t run the mains off the snake? Almost defeats the purpose
@ShirSoulMusic
@ShirSoulMusic 2 года назад
Yes. If you need more than that, you could always get more outputs on your audio snake.
@jv3600
@jv3600 2 года назад
I've always daisy-chained my stage monitors (wedges) on my 4-send snake. So A & B are for the Left & Right mains, C is for the sub, and D is daisy-chained for the two 1/4" stage wedges. I've never really had a problem, since I've never really needed to balance the stage monitors. But I agree, this solution is a little lame.
