I'm not sure if there's a name for this particular genre of ASMR, but I've always found ASMR videos featuring finely crafted tools or machinery, demonstrated by someone knowledgeable in them, to work fantastically well. You've done an excellent job here -- perfect for winding down at the end of a busy day. Not sure there's a large enough market for something like this on a regular basis, but definitely a nice treat from time to time.

I think you have found an un tapped market here Lawrie!! As an advid consumer of ASMR content, this was great! Its clear to me that you actually did some reaserach before you made this video and it shows. Brilliant. Soft speaking isnt normally my thang, i prefer whispers and stuff but this was GOOOD. Instant tingles.

Now this is something different and i do enjoy an ASMR video, of course people are going to say "this is freaky" or "im uncomfortable" because they dont really understand it which is fair, but i wouldn't mind seeing some more of this out there

A few months ago I set mine/ours on the dining table to just chuff along solfty and beautifully - just for the relaxing sound. I really can appreciate this video Lawrie :)

Tell you what Lawrie, my kid and I watch your channel and absolutely love it. I listen to ASMR every night to fall asleep and I just added this to my “best asmr” playlist (which has very high standards in regard to what asmr gets added to it!) The people saying that this is creepy or awkward must not watch asmr (and I get it, it can seem really weird at first) For someone who hasn’t done it before you are so relaxing (even more so than some other older ASMRtists!) and I’d love more of this type of content!!! Looking forward to bedtime tonight! Thanks for this :)

Well done for giving it ago and branching out into the strange world of ASMR, for people who do not follow or know what ASMR (autonomous sensory meridian response) is this will come across as something a bit freaky and weird. I found it totally relaxing, and I normally dislike repetative sounds, but this was rather nice and soothing, I put it on whilst writing emails for work. I doubt this will be something you will ever do again! I am also shocked that Lawrie can indeed be quiet at times :D

I like the steaming up a traction engine part, the ASMR not so much. I like the idea of just letting us listen to the engine while it's running, but the rest of it... not so much. A nice idea though Lawrie

Well, didn’t see this coming , 2 of my favourite RU-vid content in 1 video, LMM & ASMR. While im sure this is a pi$$ take video, honestly Lawrie if you ever run out of railway content to video then you definitely have an ASMR channel career in front of you, up there with the best of them ‘gentle whispering’ & ‘whispers red’ to name but 2. 😂😂

I have my late fathers Wilesco Old Smoky steam roller and his Wilesco D16 stationary Steam engine that I want really steam them up after watching this video but some for reason my wife won't let me run them in the house. It's to cold out side right now so I have to wait till spring.

At 04:56 when you light the fuel tablets, we also need Smell-o-Vision with the match and Sulphur and burning 🔥 wood and fuel tablet smell!! Also the Smell of Hot oil 🛢 and pressurized steam also has its own unique aroma!!!! I also have a used WILESCO steam tractor 🚜 (*), and I removed the canopy to let people watch the valve gear ⚙ from above!! GOOD SHOW SIR!!!!! OK.SUN.JAN.28.2024A.D.!!-!(Q). HI FROM GREEN BAY!! GO PACKERS 🏈 IN NFL!!!! HOORAY!!!!!!

I have the original steam ASMR all on Argo Transacord and the original Transacord Label. Every single album ever made including some from Australia, USA and some Eastern Bloc countries

Maybe I’m missing the point, but I watched at 1.5x speed & all seemed normal 😂 (I came here for the steam engine, as I’ve no idea what ASMR is.)

Wilesco models are what Mamod should have been. Mamod are solidly made, but very basic and haven't changed much in 60 years. It's a shame really as they could have been excellent by now.

being German made they are built for their high quality standards. The Mamod ones are great but I know what you mean they don't have the features like these Wilesco models have. They even have a traction engine with a crane jib in the Wilesco range.

That was the most weird, unnatural speaking on a video I've ever seen - I had to skip forward through most of it. Which is a shame as I'd love to see the firing of a Wilesco done in normal Lawrie style.. please don't ever do that again 🤨
