OMG!! I have almost taken a class with Leah Fairbanks! I would have never tried to do one of her vessels, but I think after watching this I can at least try. What a great demo.

There are many people who come to Corning from Australia to learn glassmaking--if you're interested, check out the class listing on the Museum's website: www.cmog.org/classes, as well as scholarship information www.cmog.org/glassmaking/studio/scholarships. Thanks for watching!

From watching I believe that this is Bullseye glass, is that correct?
@corningmuseumofglass
@corningmuseumofglass 8 лет назад
I believe that this demo was done using Effetre (Moretti) glass rods, not bullseye.

May i know what is the pieces stick on the glass that looks like aluminum foil?
@corningmuseumofglass

They are gold (23 or 24 karat) and silver (.999 pure) leaf.

How is the bead removed?
@corningmuseumofglass
@corningmuseumofglass 8 лет назад
Hi taytay9695, bead release is applied to the metal rod before making the bead, so the glass slips off after cooling. Thanks for watching!
