Thank you so much for making this video! I’ve been wanting to stream for quite some time and I’m planning to buy a Macbook 💻 for work and always wondered if it would work for streaming. You just showed me that it really is simple and possible! Can’t thank you enough! 🙌🏻
Hello Julie. Thank you so much for the helpful video. One question, I don't play an instrument and I use a macbook air. Do you know how I can stream with using just backing tracks? Thank you soo soo much!
Will you be able to hear the reverb yourself? Or will only people watching the stream hear the reverb. And do you have a fast way to turn it on and off between talking and playing?
I switched to adding reverb in Logic as I have a better computer now, this way you can hear it, otherwise, you won't be able to hear built-in effects in OBS. Another idea is to have an external mixer, but I had a distortion issue, and going through Logic solved all of my audio issues. On a mixer, it's a switch off/on button and in Logic, it's just one click to turn off reverb.
A friend, a singer, is new to streaming live. Her mic (and iPad via BT) connects to MHC-V21D, so she can sing and have background music from the ipad. The phone connects to a live stream (Tango) with a wired mic dangled over the MHC-V21D speaker. The sound is not great. Please can you tell me how she improves this?
Try to find free vat plugins online, if soundflower installation doesn’t work it must be privacy settings, you have to allow it to be installed in system preferences in security&privacy. You can also try Blackhole.
it takes time but it's worth it! Ask your friends in the beginning to watch your stream so then your video will be moved up in music category and people will be able to find you easier :)
Hi Julie. Thank you for the great tutorial. I have a quick question, I am a cover singer and normally use backing tracks that I have purchased to sing with when I stream. Do you do this as well as your ableton music and if so, have you had any issues with Twitch or RU-vid asking you to take the video down due to copyright issues? Just wondering how I can sing live with backing tracks legally?? Thank you for your time 🙏🙏😘
Hey Xandra, you can sing covers on Twitch so long as you don’t use any of the original recordings, soundtracks, or vocals of copyrighted music. I guess in that case backing tracks may be a problem. You would have to record your own versions of backing tracks. With RU-vid some tracks may be problematic as it depends on the label if they allow people to use them or no. You can see some songs being used for bass tutorials and they’re still on. Do a test stream, and see what happens on RU-vid.
I am using one microphone as input and a media source in obs as my backing track. But my microphone input has a latency and it is going out of sync with the backing track. Can you pleeeeease tell me how to fix this?
@@SourajitDrums I will try to do some research but I am a mac user so I won't be really much of help here, honestly, I switched to mac because of these constant annoying issues
