Always interested in listening to Architect Ma's presentations, the way he articulates just draws you in because of all the information and details behind the projects and the stories and rationales. The information is often time truly honest that's why it's very easy to listen to. He does speak as if he's making a movie cause it's incredibly organized, clear and concise. i have decided to visit each and every single one of his design. so fascinating :) anyone who's interested, we should tour together. This housing project reminds me of one of the many in Hong Kong, called estates which are less "designed" orientated but yet truly functional and community based. The flow of people for gathering, commuting paths, shops, markets, playgrounds, exercise equipments, cafe, library, soccer and basketball courts, laundry place, convenience store, etc are all there! Often time, the public transportation and the main streets are nearby within 5-min walk and main streets within five blocks would be leading to rapid train stations. along the way, there would be tons of shops. Very dense but functional. Very tight-knit. It used to be open without gates but people feel more of a sense of privacy and security so the main entrance would have intercom, passcode lock, security cams in elevators, etc. It's much better to have the bigger units or eventually the small units should be able to open up to the next one, adequate spaces are crucial for overall social happiness factor which lead to a better society and more responsible community. There're so many factors going into designing a box unit living space because when you stay in most of the day which most people do, you need to have your own corner to do your thing or even not do your thing at all. it's not just a box like a hotel room. it's such more because the activities within a house are more than just sit and sleep. people in general cant live inside a hotel room configuration, a suite style room would be way better and happier.

Beautiful to see more social housing. Luxury architecture is breaking us.
