It's not an issue with bases. We pissed Putin off and now he's doing "routine drills" and now we just deployed ships to do "routine drills" near Russia. Routine drills are a thing, absolutely, but in this instance it's war tactics and a nice way to say "if you hit us, we hit you". It's happened before, but this time the weapons are much more powerful. Especially now that Russia just brought over nukes against their word.

All good as long as countries are operating according to international law. What people should be concerned with is if the operations are illegal. Now, I may have to study at least a little and find out what is legal or illegal, and which country or countries are not following international law. My understanding of international law is that which is of the United Nations. I may have to learn how the international law is ratified or accepted by a country. The country, any country, that is signatory to the international law but doing operations against it - that's the country we should all worried about. Now, how would I see a country doing absolutely all good in one section of the world but going against the law in another part of the world? That country can't be trusted, I have to be alert and may even have to show I am at guard.
