The Palestinians are just Arabs, hence they started migrating into the Levant from Arabia en masse around 1300 years ago. Many "Palestinian" clans keep track of where exactly in Arabia their ancestors migrated from - and some of these migrations are pretty recent. Additionally, a sizeable part of the "Palestinian" population hails from Egypt, hence the commonness of the surname "al-Masri" ("the Egyptian") amongst them. A large body of Egyptian fellahin was resettled in "Palestine" in the latest part the 18th century by the Egyptian ruler Muhammad Ali Pasha (who himself was an Albanian LOL). So hardly "thousands of years". Not even 300 years.
Free, independent Palestine, formulate your proclamation of independence for Palestine so that the whole world knows that it is independent, keep the spirit of Palestine free, the spirit of the Palestinian president to become a member of the United Nations....
