What the public does not understand is that firefighters do not actually put out the fire. They let the fire burn itself out. They simply try to manage the fire near the houses. None of the fires in so cal have ever been put out by firefighters. They burn themselves out or it finally starts to rain.
The most important question we should be asking is: why do all these forest fires get out of control in the first place? If a Sikorsky helicopter was called in immediately after the fire was reported it could dump 7,000 gallons of water on it before it gets out of control. That would be the end of the fire before it even gets started. It is inexcusable that any of these three fires did not get put out in the first half hour! Total incompetence!
Not understanding why the firefighters lay down water on one area but walk past other small burning areas. They are small, but with wind…… I realize dirt will put it out- but they are literally feet from it. Just one spray would put it out.
They have a 3 foot pathway dug here. If its a small flameup right near thhe path, they let it burn because it can't jump the path. The fire will bur the plant, and them go out.
Lol everyone thinks they are a fire expert in the comments and probaby have 0 real life experience. Yeah I'm sure firefighters are idiots and fires are somehow a scam they can easily put out but don't 🤣. They just risk their lives and work to death just to make sure the fire spreads. My brother in law is a smokehumper and a crew boss on this fire. Guy puts his life on the line and works harder than anyone I've ever met. Get real people.
