I thought the CAA protests in JNU, and the Farmers protest was what never made sense. But this one is next level, students of an Ivy League university; one of which even Indians aspire to go to, have decided to sacrifice their studies and protest against a war happening thousands of miles away that doesn't even have anything to do with them in the first place.
Voilence against women ok. But what about violence on men, that is not even talked about, much less reported. A guy facing this went to police station to report and got laughed at by police. Even a judge was caught saying its love.
Essentially, none of this is true. What happens in a small group of people in any part of the United States does not reflect on the country as a whole. I don't see anything done bad by the police madame. These students have been allowed to protest for a very long time. The police are simply doing their job. These students are breaking a LAW. Those schools are PRIVATE property and were asked to leave multiple times until they BROKE A LAW and will be forcefully detained and arrested. In some places in the states, you get a warning shot and if your not off that property your dead.
Most protests in India are peaceful, but India unfortunately has a lot of belligerent, fanatic protestors. So sometimes the police have to open fire. Police in the US would do the same thing. Compare equivalents
The job of students is to attend classes , learn and qualify . In most cases parents spend a lot of their hard earned money on them . Protest , violence , destruction are not their right . Shut up and do your studies !
The destruction happens when the falls narrative is given by government and media, police and army come in, and paid third parties meddle, stop the war, the US govt is stoking the war by supplying weapons and aiding Israel against people who cannot defend themselves, starving them. All people students included have a right to call out injustice, and the injustice is the US stoking the war and unwilling to call out and end the war. Besides, in USA, colleges and universities are deemed private properties regardless of being 100% private entity or fumed by public money and even if you are protesting peacefully but without permits, it is considered trace passing and if you put tent stuff, eat, drink and make noise, it is deemed as abuse of property and owners can prosecute for damages as well as offence would be from misdemeanor to felony. (How many Indians are familiar with these terms: misdemeanors, felony, trace passing, disturbance, altercation, …….?)
