I suggest "It Happened Quiet" Live at The Current from March 2019. If you want to hear her current voice from 2024, then the 2 latest Vevo live performances on her channel is good: "A Soul With No King", and "Some Type Of Skin". The latter one is very spontaneous and playful, but she really let go with her voice. After that latter performance she wrote on ig: "I simply cannot decide if I want to play the piano or dance. I simply CANNOT."

You should go down the Aurora rabbit hole! Many great songs of her own and she makes covers that are her own in style, often very different from the original.

Welcome to world of AURORA. Singer/songwriter Aurora Aknes is a very special being. Her fans are lovingly refered to as 'Warriors and Weirdos' she has a very wide range of sounds, and is very experimental. I was fascinated to find that there is an ancient goddess known as Aurora and I personally think that Aurora knows this as well, as she often uses much of her symbolism, colors, etc in her songs ( not always but very often ). If I was going to recommend some of her songs I would choose "Exist for Love" "The River" and "Daydreamer". She has over a 100 songs including multiple different versions she produces of the same song. Also her live versions are often very different from the studio version, but in interesting and varied ways. Needless to say it was hard for me to narrow down 3 songs to show you from 100 great songs, but those are the one my mind came to. I hope you continue your journey down the Aurora rabbit hole, and allow her to bring the dawn to you much more often! ( the goddess aurora was a dawn goddess and over the growth of small plants and also dew for some reason - such a beautiful goddess - but the least worshiped in history with very few shrines ever found to her, that research has been quite fascinating )
I always wonder how you can judge a voice or a singer based on just one or two pieces of music. Aurora's musical spectrum extends from softer to rockier titles, each with a different vocal pitch and depth. In order to really get an idea of the range of a singer you have to (in my opinion) go deeper into the diversity. This is especially true with Aurora, her personality in live performances always gives her songs a tvist that always surprises. You should really spend some more time with Aurora and watch her live performances at her shows and festivals, you will be surprised how quickly your analysis will change 😊. Have fun discovering 😉

She is Norwegian. "Runaway " she wrote at age 11. She was 19 at the Nobel concert. The song "Lucky" she wrote between ages 9-12. She was 21 at the Nidarosdomen concert. I'm 69 and have listened to tons of music in my lifetime and I gotta say that I don't know anyone has written better melodies along with lyrics as Aurora. She's an artist in the true sense of the word and a good, caring human. Subbed, hoping for more Aurora.

Aurora write all her songs because it is her art and she just have a incredible view on the world and everything in us humans. She wants and is making the world/humans better. She is so raw, sharing emotions and every part of being a human. Aurora is a music genius and produce and write her songs. It's like a project for her, it's important for her. She study alot when making an album because she wants to say the right things because its soo many things she wants to say. She write one notebook for every album she makes and that notebook is now become a book. She have realised the one for her "the gods we can touch" album and now recently for her newest album "what happend to the heart". In the book we get a insight in how her process is while making the album. It's all from her deepest personal thoughts that can explain alot about how she felt while writing the songs, all the lyrics is there, her possible playlist, pictures, texts she read while writing. The coolest thing is seeing the study she did to make the album. In the newest book "what happend to the heart" she study the autonomy of the heart. It's extraordinary how she puts soo much soul and rawness into these albums it's not only music it's art and medicine for our souls. If you check out Aurora more you won't regret it. It's really rare what she has. When she is singing in live concerts she always has some songs we're people is totally quiet.

One thing I love about Aurora. And this just one thing of a thousand. She never fake it. No computer enhancement here. If she misses her tune, then she misses it and she let you know. One example, she said she did a small concert with only her playing piano and singing and she said it was kind of shit, lol. Her voice is just fantastic. Just fantastic.One reason is that its real. She is one of the few real artist out there now. There are a handful out there but most of the music industry is taken over by corporate assholes. This artist though, she does it her own way. Her own premises. A gem in a sea of gray stones.

Great choice! These are some sad songs, so not much need for belting I guess. For it you need to hear her warrior, earth chants or some of the few angry parts of her stories. She is a musical storyteller and is best in live recordings, although her studio versions are perfect as well of course. She is very diverse in her repertoire and in different versions of her songs as well. She can be gorgeous with full orchestra as well as with just one guitar or piano. She is a must watch/listen.

I listn to Aurora for 9 years now and her greatnss for is that she are one of the best performer because have the xpressive and empathic voice that now one have in my opinion. The second song is for me the best performance ever been made..I have never been intresting in belting voices, but in her latest album she have more adult voice and you she have a VERY strong voice. In the first song I think she was about 18 years old. The second song is from about 2 years later (1917). I think she's 28 now. Her voice, and singing abilities have developed through time. Really nice reaction to Aurora, my all time favorite artist. These two songs are very beautiful and our both favorites among large fan base. I am a bit odd, I don't count them among my very large list of my personal favorites, but, I still think they are exceptional songs, there are just others I prefer more. Aurora can really belt it out if she chooses, she is not limited to that one weapon in her arsenal of vocal talent though.
