Instead of singing/humming you could use whistling the notes (which many people might be better at than singing). Also for beats, try not using your voice/mouth but rather the sound of your fingers tapping on the table or so. What Im trying to say is: it doesn't have to be your voice thats being learned by the software. That might make it easier. Thinking of getting one of these but the only purpose I see currently is for recording notes on the fly by whistling them (which I guess Im quite accurate with (I might not lol)).
That's the great thing about this everyone can use It in the way that suits them, I like the Idea of only knowing how to play one acoustic Instrument doesn't limit you.
You can master anything you want to master if you will repeat it a sufficient number of times for your subconscious. We cannot ever become anything in particular unless we learn this law of repetition. It is one of the greatest laws in the universe I've watched this video at least 5 times. Will watch 100 times
That's great news, Its nice the company Is creating what the vocalists and musicians need. as you know If you have a good Imagination this has to be one of the most creatively music tech tool ever created. the amount of Ideas I had when I first heard of It went through the roof, I want It for scatting In jazz style using flute for the sound and beat boxing, but Its going to give musicians so much flexibility as well Instead of hireling session musicians for the studio. I really want but I'm not on the net at home and I don't think It works unless your on the net. ?
@@bboymac84 yes found out the other day Its great news.I found out you can use It on a laptop pluged In to your home music computer the same way as a master keyboard :@)
It can work a bit easier ,I use autotune efx before the signal goes into a voice to midi vst. So you can choose how fast your voice changes notes and such wich result in a more pitch correct(er) output.
Always wanted something like this for adding the funk flavor to deep soulful house buy scatting the lead and bass Etc. Its amazing because Is seems like an Instant trigger. a very nice music tool.
Holy crap this may be what I'm looking for! I make games but while I'm good at programming and drawing, making music is what stops me from finishing projects.
Gave your video from Jan 2020 about Ableton audio to midi a thumbs up some time ago as I was really interested in that feature and appreciated your in depth overview. Today RU-vid has kindly suggested your video about Dubler. I am keen to know your thoughts on how the two compare please?
Well while they do similar things, Dubler is focused on vocals and doing it live where as the audio to midi feature is about converting any audio to midi. They both have different algorithms so sometimes one will work better than the other. I also use Melodyne which does the same thing, sometimes I’ll try each to see which gets the best result but I’ve never found one to constantly out perform the other. However Dubler is really the only one to do it live so it depends on your use of each.
Do you know if they're selling this now or not? Their website shows it up, but I wanted to make sure it's actually been released before buying it. Thanks for the review!
I'm not sure, I'm assuming they are but maybe because of how things are at the moment they may have taken their shop offline possibly. I got my on the first batch of kickstarters.
@@DirtySecretz Tyvm for responding man! I wouldn't blame them for taking it offline, and honestly I think I'll just pay no matter what. Anything that helps an amazing startup like this stay in business is worth the investment. Have a great day Dirty!
I have wondered about what this would be like in a live environment, not something I'd be doing any time soon but I'm sure the fine people over at Vochlea have the answer!
Hey mate! It would be nice to see how you progressed with it after a year :) I'm in the same shoes, cant sing at all, have some melody ideas as voice notes in my phone which i wont show it to anyone. Ever :D So i would really love to see if your "integration" with Dubler got better with time :)
To be honest, I don't use it as much as I thought I would. Occasionally I will get it out to get an idea out my head but generally I haven't really gone much further with it. However I think once everything goes back to an almost normal and studio sessions can be done face to face it'll be a great tool to get singers input on melody.
To be honest once you plug it in via USB it just shows up a generic midi controller, there's no real major setup else I would have probably covered it. I haven't tried using it as an audio mic yet but again it shows up just like a USB mic so again not too much trouble with getting it configured :)
@@boimesa8190 Sorry, yes I meant the software shows up as a generic midi controller - I thought that was kinda implied as the mic & software are a combined package to make everything work (as mentioned in the video) but thanks for helpfully pointing out that I hadn't specifically mentioned that in my comment.
Does anyone know If this Vochlea Dubler Is working If your not on the net at home yet. Its something they really need to change. because there's loads of people not on the net that really want to purchase one.
They have just released a new version of the software where once you've logged in once it should then remember you: forum.vochlea.co.uk/t/no-more-dubler-logins/324
@@DirtySecretz Well that was a dirty secret Ha ha haaaa. thank you so much for that great news, I'm so glad they've done that, Vochlea's customer levels should go up a bit as well, hey I don't know If you know this but I tried something the other day and It worked because of not being on the net at home yet, because before you had to sign In once a week I put I downloaded dubler on my portable laptop so I could sign In to dubler once a week to keep It activated then I took my laptop home plugged the mic In to It then used a USB to midi cable from that laptop to reason In my home music computer and It worked using It as you'd use a master keyboard plugged In, :@) but now they done this Its great news because I'd rather load the Dobler software In to Reason. Thank you for the good news
lol that intro didnt convince me XD. Tho vochlea should make it a free demo or trail. cuz im not gonna lob 200+ euro's to try something like this. Prob gonna wait for some free opensource stuff and give it a try...
I think the software recognises the specific microphone, as it’s USB there’s probably a specific marker it looks for when plugged in. Theoretically I imagine it could but the mic was specifically designed to do this task so it’s probably the best for the job.
@@DirtySecretz I can whistle and hum at the same time, I can also vaguely whistle 2 notes at once (I'm a beginner). That makes my polyphony 3. A famous Mongolian throat singing technique also produces 2 notes at once with the voice.
