LIVE: West Asia On Edge As Israel Intensifies Strikes On Hezbollah | Vantage with Palki Sharma
Israel has intensified airstrikes on Hezbollah targets in Lebanon, resulting in the deaths of over 550 people and forcing tens of thousands to flee in what has become the country's deadliest day in nearly 20 years. Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu warned people in Lebanon to evacuate areas where it said the armed movement was storing weapons. In retaliation, Hezbollah launched approximately 200 rockets at Israel, though most were intercepted. Meanwhile, tensions are rising between Russia and Ukraine as well. Amid this global unrest, India's Prime Minister Narendra Modi met with Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky on the sidelines of UN General Assembly in New York, advocating for peaceful resolutions. I'm sorry, Palki, but I disagree with your statement that Netanyahu is solely responsible for the situation. Have you noticed how Hezbollah uses innocent people as shields? They store missiles and rockets in residential areas, schools, and even hospitals. Placing ammunition in these locations puts everyone there at risk of being targeted. It's not Netanyahu, but rather Hamas and Hezbollah, who are responsible for the deaths of innocent people. Netanyahu is still giving them time and space to leave the area and protect themselves and their loved ones. What Israel and the IDF are doing is protecting their own lives, which anyone would do in the same situation.

Pakishama I love your news but I want us to be a little bit objective here. Hezbollah were the ones that first attacked Israel and because they are using human beings as shields, they suffer more casualties. When you said where does Benjamin want the people of Lebanon to go, my question is where did Israel resettled all their citizens in the northern part when Hezbollah started raining rocket at them. Hello Palki, namste! Have missed dome of your broadcast but glad to connect and relish last night's broadcast. One needs to be in the shoes of a country's leader and have a holistic clarity about that leader's overall character to judge that leader. Wars are never known to help anyone. Israel's history must be remembered and that Hamas began the war! Now all the countries are suffering and end war would be great but the constantly retaliative involvement of Lebenon/ Hezbollah/Iran/Hamas and their absence of somber offer of truce and immediate return of the remaining hostages = resolve of Israel to 'teach a lesson of life-time' = continued war - my lay-person's humble perspective! There can never be two state solution: like West Pakistan and East Pakistan we have Gaza and West Bank; so there are three states not two states, for solution to this problem, it is more like a three state solution. It will be wise for Israel to push formation of two different countries namely Gaza and West Bank. No world leaders are willing to move the parties to a Peace-table instead they are fuelling the fire. What is at steak: arm sales by the arm-selling countries. My view that in future Bangladesh, Khalistan, Rahul’s affiliation with west will turn into a Bermuda triangle for India, if not taken these threats seriously. The West’s policy towards India is to keep threat from all angles looming in the horizon and to cash-in on slightest weakness detected, and dangle the carrot right in the front to entice and weaken its resilience, gradually infiltrating in every aspect of Indian politics, economy, military and the way of life. They cannot stand India’s rise to the prominence in Geo-pollical world order, they cannot be trusted for a blink of an eye. Because India has expressed its ambitious plans in the near future; probably committees are established to prob into and to take advantage of India’s aspirations. Right now they are just buying time just to deal with Russia and China, India will be next in line in the future.
