As a Chelsea fan who has traveled a fair bit this was the most amazing atmosphere I’ve ever experienced at a football match, it was absolutely electric that day and is something I’ll never forget, Shame about the result though!!
It was so big because we knew we were outclassed teamwise and had to carry them. Sadly we have become spoilt and the average fan priced out. Modern football eh?
I remember being there tha night. It was red hot from the moment I entered the stadium. We got the team over the line somehow. Chelsea threw everything at us with let's face it a far superior team back then. When the 4th official put the board up for 6 mins added on it was like an eternity. The place went off at the end like nothing I've witnessed before. No one left the ground and we all kept singing for another 20 minutes. Unforgettable night. The best atmosphere I've witnessed
If the atmosphere is like this every time liverpool plays at anfield then Liverpool will never lose at Anfield, fans are to be blamed as well sometimes as klopp says & he is right.Unfortunately, the team does lose the power of the 12th man when the fans do not do their best.YNWA
This video completely demonstrates the difference between Liverpool and any other club. Mad respect for the 5000 Chelsea fans who tried to out-sing us, they are true Chelsea fans. We have 50,60,70,80,000+ fans that would sing like that for our team. "It's more important than life and death" , he said it, we live it. We will never be beat! YNWA.
@@kamil_mugavara not as good as this was, was the loudest ground ever at the time 130db, only beaten by besiktas now. If we have a few bad seasons, and get back to the UCL semis, vs an english team at anfield, it will be like this again
@@kamil_mugavara now people rush songs, we'll problably never hear a downtempo YWNA like this. YWNA these days you can hear people singing at different rhythms because of this
@kamil_mugavara if I'm being honest it can be quieter than what it used to be. It depends on the fixture and how the season is going. Big European nights, scum utd match, and the Merseyside derby is still, without a doubt, the most intense and amazing atmosphere you can experience in any stadium
That atmosphere will never be beaten. Full stop. For sheer volume, intensity and non stop noise. The crowd had a job to do and didn't dissappoint. There are not many crowds can do things like that. My fave night ever in 35 years of supporting the reds. Better than Istanbul for me. Proud to have been part of such a great night. It would be nice to hear from any Chelsea fans who were there ... What was your take on the atmosphere? YNWA.
I've commented on the video under another Name but i was there as an 18year old Chelsea fan, i remember travelling up extremely confident that we would get the result, as soon as i felt the atmosphere from the Liverpool fans outside the ground my confidence evapourated, once inside i remember watching the Kop fill up and the hairs went up like they'd taken viagra, you lot started singing and the chills went off the scale and they didnt disappear for a day or two after, without question that was the greatest atmosphere i've ever experianced in my whole life let alone at a game, despite losing i'd never been buzzing that much and actually wanted to stay at the end just for the thrill it was mental, mad respect for the Liverpool fans because in my opinion the team did'nt win that game it was the fans,(never crossed the line by the way) lol
@@godsavethequeen3395 mad fact it was the loudest football game since records began at the time. 130 db or something insane. If only i was old to go then
I only watched on telly and it almost blew my set apart…can only describe it as an added undercurrent of raw feral desperation in the noise, to be that close to a champs league final after so many years.
I was in Genoa early in the 90's vs Liverpool. Think it was Branco with an awsome free kick. Superb atmosphere that night, and saw the biggest banner I have ever seen. Well in Genoa, you gave our fans great memories.
Too many clueless tourists, too many old guys who'd rather slag the players than sing and the ticket prices are hindering young people from going to games. Liverpool FC must realize that atmosphere can win you points and earn you more money than increasing the ticket prices. Daft capitalistic thinking
Theres no room for passion in the English game anymore especially after Heysel and Hillsborough with all seater stadiums, Liverpool Palace and Newcastle are the only good sets of fans in the Prem these days.
Trausti Magnússon don't slag tourists. I'm from America and I've shown way more passion than some so called scousers. Blaming a group is the easy way out. Just call out the shit fans already.
Chelsea fan here travellled up and down the country visited anfield in 2007 when we lost 2-0 (kuyt and pennant got the goals that day i beleive. I have to say i get some sort or nostalgia watching as the rivalry between us was something else those days. 30 years old now and its fair to sa this was my favorite era when it comes to suporting my team good or bad times.
Liverpool will be back, we will return stronger than ever, 18/5 YNWA JFT96 Poetry in motion across the fields of Anfield road , We're on our way to glory, and the kids will always have a story
The best semi-final series in CL in history.....just epic, I'm a Chelsea fan and I can fairly say that Liverpool is in the the spot they deserve. Hope we still win the league though...:D
One of the few real Chelsea fans i was just talking about, how do you not cringe when these glory hunters trash your club mate, always liked Chelsea until you got the money and hangers on.
Owen St john Exactly, I watched from the Kippax stand at Maine Road when man city were all the way down in division 2, and now we have success all these glory hunting dickheads are coming. Why don't they fuck off from football..
Had to settle for watching that game on telly, but it was without question the best I've ever heard Anfield. Amazing club. Amazing fans. Amazing stadium. How we long for European nights like that again.
I can speak for myself and my mates...We will never forget both games home and away. Especially when we went to Genoa. Wonderful atmosphere that was. Many Reds whom I chat too still remember that night, even if we have fond memories of recent times. I still have a shirt given to me by one of your fans during the game. Cheers.
The greatest atmosphere I've ever seen that night, even the Barcelona game doesn't lay a glove on the atmosphere that night, you could of plugged a toaster into it as it was electric ⚡⚡⚡
What a lucky people. I'm from Moldova and I will do my best to watch live from Anfield to Liverpool FC playing in any tournament or friendly match, to sing, to celebrate. Incredible atmosphere!
This is the time when we had no tourists in are football club. We will never have atmosphere like this again. Too many people on there phones and not knowing the lyrics to the chance. BRING BACK THE ATMOSPHERE
TMC HD you think there weren’t any tourists back then 😐 the reason why the atmosphere was like this was because of how much it meant. Start of Chelsea dominance and Liverpool during our banter era. Also with Stevie G to Chelsea rumors. You’ll never see an atmosphere like this because the stakes were never higher.
YaBoiMou there was less tourist back then. They say its good to be a big club but where getting more and more tourist in and it’s stupid dunno why they can’t support there own teams in there own county. I’m scouse born and bread and u don’t see me support a team like Barcelona. So they need to fuck off. Ur seeing less scarfs coz people using mobile phones it’s not right
Only saw 1 person on his phone and it was for a split second in this video. Such a shame that with social media today people are more obsessed with recording this stuff for likes rather than living the moment. If the 2019 comeback against Barca happened in the time of 2005 with no social media, the atmosphere would have been 100x better. The atmosphere was still amazing in 2019.
If we start winning trophies again we can make atmosphere like this again, considering we haven't and were still louder than nearly all other teams says alotm
ill never experience an atmosphere like that again in my life and havent since. i read somewhere somewhere 130 decibels but seemed louder one of my ears actually bled lol no joke.
Respect for Chelsea, for singing during YNWA! :) LFC fans may think its rude, but I tell you, if you are a real supporter you dont let the enemy sing their songs without singing by yourself, to support your team
what a night, been to loads of games, finals etc and that night beat them all, stayed on the kop for 45 mins after the game singin, and who could forget gudjhonsons miss,my heart stopped, then we went to istanbul and i nearly had a heart attack...great vid, great memories,Y.N.W.A
Hey SwedenRed, LFC site The Anfield Wrap here - we're putting together a video to celebrate the anniversary of Istanbul - any chance we could include your boss video at all? We'll credit you of course. Cheers.
dont you just love it how you can here chealsea singing we are the champions and then when Liverpool start to sing you cant here them over us awsome liverpool fans
Liverpool not being in the CL is like having a banquet without wine. And "Maureens" still bitter to this day that we knocked him out the CL ..YNWA.... >.
ive just been at emirates on tuesday night to arsenal - standard match and you cant even compare with whats here. the kop is unique, the most best atmosphere. hope one day i ll be there and sing ywnwa, fields of anfield road, and so on. cant waitr for that
