Most of the time you’ll hear Beatles speaking with a very moderated scouse accent, I think because of the 1960s attitudes, in interviews they didn’t sound as scouse as they might have done when it was just them together.

As per my scouser friends, the way to decide if someone not scouse is getting the true scouse accent is if they can say, “chicken and a can of coke” in a scouse accent. 6 years on and I still can’t. 🤣 The people here are so warm and lovely though. I genuinely feel for them. Stop all the hate. 😢

Leccy for electricity - "Watch out the leccy man is on his way round!" Slummy for small change - "Go and rifle through your dad's kecks for his slummy." Kecks for trousers - See above Antwacky for out of date, unfashionable - "I loved the size of the flat, but the decorations were too antwacky for me." Made up for happy, over the moon - "I'm made up he was able healthy enough to get to the wedding." Chocka for feeling overwhelmed, or a place being very busy - "My head is chocka with all these exams going on." Plazzy, jarg, blag for fake - "Did you see her trying to pass on that jarg bag as a Louis Vuitton?" Lolly ice for ice lolly - "Go out and get two lolly ices from the ice cream man." Fun fact: Sir Paul McCartney initially wasn't a fan of The Rutles until he found out that Eric Idle was a fellow Scouse out of Wallasey (it also helped that Paul's wife at the time, Linda, also liked The Rutles).

My dad’s from Liverpool but to me I can’t hear his accent because I’m so used to his voice. Watching this video they all sounded like my nana lol. She’s definitely got a Scouse accent. And my cousin.

Isn't the scousers who say "me" instead of "my" ??? It's the cutest thing !!

My two favorite ( American obviously) British voices are Joanna Lumley and then a witty retort from Pete Burns! R.I.P.

My first experience with scouser accent was when Paddy Pimblet debuted in UFC. His accent makes the guy more interesting in UFC.

Haha I love you Brits! Could someone please explain to this Yank what the joke was from the show 'Keeping Up Appearances' in which Onslow exclaims "You were a Liverpool supporter!" The wife and I are currently loving 'Dad's Army' for the first time after we'd run through the aforementioned and 'Are You Being Served?'. On a side note you'd probably think my heavy Midwest accent is desecrating your language...just put 'R's were there aren't supposed to be any.
