Marseille are testing Arsenal's resolve knowing we need to move Nketiah to raise funds for a new striker. Arsenal don't necessarily have to sell to Marseille. Problem is Eddie might not agree to move to another club after agreeing terms with Marseille. I still think we can offload Eddie elsewhere to call Marseille's bluff, which will then force them to pay what we demand. Nelson also needs to go. He's actually been a pain in the backside. He's long overstayed his welcome but he's happy to sit on the bench for the pay cheque. We have to move both players to maximise funds for a striker, but even if we just sell one of them, we'll still invest in an attacking player

Last season we scored more goals in the league than we have in our history. Nelson is another matter I agree fully he is a mercenary and doesnt look interested and is stealing a living. Nketioah lacks quality but he is a trier and when he does play he looks like he is fighting for every second he gets and although I want him upgraded he is a model pro from everything I see. The truth is we need a midfielder and a right sided attacker and then after that I would prefer an additional midfielder over another striker. I am happy with Havertz, Jesus and even Trossard as false nines, I know there will be the odd game when we say "We needed a out and out poacher there" but that will also cost us goals in over games as what Havertz and Jesus bring outside of goals is goals for other players. Like I say factually we score enough goals and have for 2 seasons now. The issue is the depth and when we have needed to rotate a bit we suffer. 150k and above are for players that have been a quality starter for seasons. Caicedo doesn't have that at that time. A quality starter but not for seasons. But Liverpool should be able to sign Lavia, 50k is a good number for him at that time. Caicedo now do worth 150k tho. Paying a high salary to a young player that haven't prove his consistency is a gamble. You can see that happened with Cole Palmer having 80k on his first Chelsea contract. Cole Palmer new salary is probably around 140-180k. Chelsea took a gamble with Caicedo, given him huge 1st contract. But this might cause some problems in the near future (1. Player salary rise 2. Club salary structure 3. Other clubs might rethink to sign him on that wages if he doesn't work out - this happened to Barcelona's players like Joao Felix and Ansu Fati which both have more than 200k per week contract).

That wasn’t accepted and then Liverpool stupidly went and tried to get Caicedo even though Chelsea had done months of ground work with him and he’s a Chelsea fan. Lavia felt insulted and then didn’t want to go to Liverpool. None of that has to do with pull, that’s just awful moves from the ownership.
