No media outlet including fan channels are going to have even the slightest clue about the true inner workings of the back office of a billion dollar organization. People have been assuming FSG or Richard Hughes have dropped the ball in one way or another without knowing any of the target thresholds of their spend. It's cool to have a chit-chat around transfers and potential targets and rumors etc but I would like to hear more fan channels admit we don't actually know anything.

We're so perfect we can't find players,yet the teams that finished ahead of us are improving. Fsg is not about winning but building the value of the club for a later sale.
We're also one of the only teams in prem history that didn't really strengthen after winning the league, and we're also one of the only teams that didn't go on to win another title after that first win. Look at the big clubs like utd, city, chelsea. When they won the league and then strengthened they won more league titles within 1-5 years. We're the only ones that haven't and also the only ones that didn't truly strengthen after winning the title. I don't think that's a coincidence.
Underrated point about the ensuring maximum availability. We got used to Klopp essentially burning out key sections of the squad. There has to be a smarter way (Arteta’s primary weapon has been to deliver exactly that)

I agree to an extent, but the defence was left exposed too often. Trent is horrible at defending, to the point where when he does manage a successful tackle everyone loses their shit and say he's brilliant. Endo is not Fabinho, so I think it's good that we are going to double pivot. If Jota stays fit, Salah is not driven by ego and Nuñez starts to actually hit the target and stops being offside + Diaz/Gakpo scoring more from the wing (or Gordon, if we buy him), we should be ok.
Those clamouring for ANOTHER midfielder should specify who they think they should replace. Excepting Endo (who I really like and think would be a great option off the bench late on in games) who do fans think doesn’t have a future? Szobo? Elliot? Jones? Gravenberch? McAllister? Bajcetic? Nyoni? Because that’s currently 7 players for 3 positions -all of whom are highly technical and press resistant. And fans want an 8th??

Yet another farcical transfer window. Why don't FSG ever learn? The only team in the Premier League to not sign one player. It is a complete joke. Liverpool squad wasn't strong enough last season and that's why they fell away and didn't win any of the major trophies. The squad was crying out for at least three signings. They really need a centre back because Konatee is injury prone, Van Dyk is starting to pick up more injuries, Matip has been allowed to leave. Need right back because Trent isn't good enough defender to be at right back and you need backup for Bradley. You need an upgrade on Endo in midfield, and we need an upgrade on Nunez because he doesn't score enough goals we can't keep relying on Salah all the time. Sala really went off the boil last season and the goals really dried up. FSG are showing zero ambition want to just be happy for a top four finish. We're turning into the new Arsenal under Wenger. I think the frustrating thing with liverpools transfer policy is it appears every year its a pursuit of one player at a time, yeah zubamendi hasnt happened but the ball shud be running in terms of getting in a centre half, a left back and may be a wide forward, cos if no progessive business is done this year were gonna be left next season with a tonne of work to do with van diyk, robertson and salah another year down the line and to be replaced and potentially having to replace one or two of ure forwards as well if they dont deliver this season as well as still looking for a number 6.
I think any alternative to Zubimendi has to at least be of respectable height. I just don't think you can get away with a midfield in the premier league of Mac Allister, Elliot and another short player. So Caquaret, Andre, Gilmour, Joao Gomes, Varela and basically anyone else who is shorter than Mac Allister is not a viable option in my eyes.
I am surprised to see no one is really talking about the potential impact of the multi club model. Assuming Henry isn't leading Edwards up the garden path on it, I can see more of our transfer budget going on players that could be stars in 2-3 years and be loaned out to a sister club. I don't see FSG being willing to spend big on transfers and so could see many more deals like the one for the keeper. In fact I could see us keep our powder dry now, sell some youngsters and use thar money to buy youngsters to be loaned to the sister club. Hopefully Edwards is illustrating to Henry that the cost of transfers is such that haggling over a few million for a football club is not worth it and it is best to purchase a good club now than wait forever to purchase a great club at a great price.
Need a more D oriented midfielder and ... to free TAA occasionally from RB so Bradley can play defense in that position instead ... Period. Slot is fine by the fans , at least for now. It's Edwards, and especially Hughes, in whom the fans are rapidly losing trust. Not to mention the LFC media. The way the "we will not be pursuing any other 6" message was pushed across all channels in parallel didn't sit well with any fans. I agree 100% with Neil. None of these scenarios = "don't invest". As it stands we need; a CDM, a Left CB\FB, an understudy RW at a minimum. If we are going to use one of our existing players in one of those roles ( e.g. TAA as a mid or RW, DOM as RW ) , then their spot needs to be backfilled. No signings is a madness. FSG and Hughes are begging for a disaster which will occur the moment there is a mid or CB injury crisis.
I agree with the principal of moving the needle signings but having a recognised long term 6 is literally the biggest mover of the needle LFC can possibly have. Zubimendi isn’t and wasn’t going to be an elite signing so the bar isn’t set at At Rodri so the market isn’t tricky at Zubimendi level. I don’t hate FSG or scream for their heads but with the rise of analytical approaches I do feel our model is if not outdated certainly losing its potency which raises concerns regarding the future of our clubs on field success.

Szoboszlai, is a show pony player. You’ll get the odd Hollywood pass or breathtaking goal but, most of the time, he offers little. He gives the ball away time and again very cheaply you just can’t get away with that at a top club like Liverpool
