"I've only had [RCT3] crash when I built a coaster that was 200km tall, which isn't really something you're supposed to do in the game anyway." You aren't supposed to build a calculator out of rollercoasters in RCT2 either, Marcel, but here we are.
As part of the 3% I gotta say, if a guy walked up to me in a bar and asked me if I wanted to talk about RCT2 intensity ratings I would be PSYCHED. You never know Marcel, some of us are ladies AND rct2 nerds hahaha 😁
Nobody brought this up but until 20' he "simply" and "intuitively" - Adjusted the launch speed of the freefall, so that it's the best it could be before it crashes. Without stopping, trying, testing or anything. - Created a looping coaster from scratch so that it has 6.odd excitement and 6.odd intensity at one try. Without any mismodeling or penalties I gotta say. - Same above with a twister coaster afterwards. I paused to video to comment and say HALLELUJAH to you Marcel!
Love watching you build coasters and the like in live time like this. When I first got RCT Classic it took a LONG time for me to be even remotely comfortable building coasters with balanced excitement and intensity ratings (like 45% at least through RCT classic scenerios beforehand). So watching "the experts" build coasters in live time is definitely a good learning experience :)
Everyone likes a Dutch accent, except for Dutch people xD I cringe every time I hear one or our politicians speak English with a thick accent... Not saying I don't have an accent, though. English is pretty hard not to have some kind of accent in, since there is no 'official' English. It's always Bittish or American or Australian or whatever, if you're trying to speak without accent.
DOOTCHTOOBERS ARE TAKING OVER THE INTERNETS; •ThorHighHeels is a goofball, but his vertical integration of content creation is the future; and he's my own age for once • Doomgod decino can make himself sound like Marcel if he's doing a voice or some sort of cadence for an aside or something _and now I discovered_ • *"Marcel makes Mr. Bones horrified"* despite not having played RCT since I was a wee lad I find it interesting mechanically and soothing _Why are Dutch crushing it in my YT tastes?_ (If Marcel is not Dutch then this is all moot, I just found it weird)
also dang it's been 7 months since this comment and it feels like it was yesterday, still thinking about how much time I've wasted looking at coasters, I remember never beating Extreme Heights because I waste so much time that my rides get old and start losing value
on channel sponsers: "if it doesnt fit the channel im not gonna do it" he doesnt want to sell out what a wonderful man. i love your content kepp it up its perfact.
Thank you for your contributions to the RCT community. Played RCT as a kids before 2 and 3. Is this RCT2? If one were to buy RCT, which one would you recommend (2 or 3)?
Marcel, Just recently starting watching you and watching old stuff... And then I hear "Nightwish are my favourite band" and I now think you are my fav guy on YT!
Another great stream! Where else to get RCT, chill chatting and long videos making for great background? Oh and Norway is also my fav country! Few questions I've wondered for a while: 1. You study AI. What exactly does that mean? (I am not tech person) Is this just like computer programming? Robots to eventually do human tasks? 2. How often do you play? Since you've done so much and are quite skilled, do you ever get bored/fear you will? 3. Do you like Blind Guardian?
AI stands for artificial intelligence, which basically means computers that think for themselves. This can be very simple, such as a thermostat that keeps the temperature at a set level, or very complicated, such as a self driving car. I don't play a lot on my own anymore, or at least not your standard gameplay. I do mess around with cheats every now and then and I of course build the things you see in my videos. I have heard of Blind Guardian but never listened to them.
I am a terrible Coaster builder in this game, even after twenty years playing it. I just put in premades. Using OpenRCT2, I save Coasters already in premade parks to the bin and add them to my personal parks. Then I just recolor, take care of queue lines and landscape the ride. Landscaping is where I truly am good. Not ride building.
2:10:00 Planet Coaster bugged security guards by adding pickpockets into the game. Guests understandably don't like getting robbed, and pickpockets will really only spend money on food, so they'll leave with hundreds of dollars that you now can't get from them. So security guards are pretty much required in Planet Coaster.
I just downloaded the Quantum's Edge scenario. I didn't really see your park so I have little idea what to do. I'm excited, the game is fun but I have wanted new and challenging scenarios (had no idea there was an online world of d/loads....I last played RCT like 10 years ago until I found your channel). EDIT: Yikes, this is indeed hard! Ya didn't mention the pitifully small amount of loans you get. And IDK if you can design this, but in a few tries I noticed it's rained like twice in just a few weeks, AND the rides have broken down alot, like 2 down already again in a few weeks. OFC my first 2 shops researched are not kiosk's and the first coaster you get is also awful. How you did this is beyond me!
@@KyrstOak Grammar nazism is the lowest form of retort. It adds nothing, requires no thought, engagement, or helpful critique since it creates resentment and doesn't seem like genuine help, you just seem arrogant. This is the internet, I speak and write professionally all the time, be it for work or school. This is the internet though, a chance to turn off the brain and just relax and not be "on". Cut me some slack, or stfu.
I know the Netherlands is called Holland. But I live in Holland/Zeeland Michigan. With has one of the largest Dutch community in the USA. All these damn wooden shoes, windmills, and Tulip Time Festivals. It's nice.
no offense but it does seem like americans are mega obsessed by their "heritage" that just doesn't make sense. an overwhelming majority of dutch people have never worn or maybe even seen wooden shoes in their lives.
@@Lara-dr8is no offense but it's pretty stupid to be offended by either of those things. Respecting and enjoying cultural heritage, and the wooden shoes being associated with Dutch culture _by_ American Dutch people in one particular area. Oh how it boils the blood.
Marcel Vos, RCT expert... Doesn't realise the unbanked small turns are an issue, fixes the problem by making the ride crash instead of using large curves as an s bend, after setting the ride to open
Things I've done to make RCT3 not be able to load: Make a really big park. Make a park with giant pools. Make a park with an 8 station coaster. Try to build that saved 8 station coaster in another park.
Het is een goed gevoel om te weten dat ergens in Nederland iemand bestaat die Rollercoaster speelt op professioneel niveau. Je bent wel een beetje een pannenkoek op je live stream, maar het siert je wel. Ga zo door man, spread the coaster love.
I know this is old stream, but why are you putting breakes at the end of every coaster? Does it make any difference since it stops when going into station anyway?
Because when there are breakdowns, there is a chance the breakdown is about station brake failures. Due to that, rides can crash when reaching a station, and it make the ride very unreliable and dangerous. It will also lower its popularity dramatically and guests will refuse to get into it for several months in game. Putting a brake block right behind a station can help mitigate this by a bit.
Could you do a video explaining station brake failures and different ways to prevent them from causing station crashes, such as brakes, block brakes, water splashes, launched coasters, etc.? Specifically, if there's a way to prevent a launch coaster from flying out of the back of the station off the rails during a station brake failure, without having to build a steep hill on the other side of the station.
Brakes are more likely to fail during the rain but brakes failure apparently cannot happen on coasters with the powered launch (without passing station) operating mode.
Only reason I charge $.10 for my toilets is because I like knowing everything in my park is technically profitable. Gotta reign in that OCD when looking at the profit tab.
I love rct2 and just recently got back into it after watching ur vids. On my game however when guests spend money I don’t see the free win Ly thing but I see the red one when I spend money I’ve looked into google and reddit and didn’t find anything. Do u know anything?
MARCEL did you ever listen to or hear about NL death metal band Callenish Circle? They put out some fucking amazing stuff in the mid 00's. Unfortunately broke up.
Being so skilled at this game, I found Amity Airfield not hard enough and decided to make a scenario with that exact goal of 4K guests in 4 years, which is this one (Frostbite Castle). It really tests your microcoaster spamming and advertising skills.
@@kodybenoit1680 ah, no worries. After you install RCT2 from steam (or anywhere), install OpenRCT2 from here: openrct2.org/ There is an install guide on the website.
I'm a littel bit late but some weeks ago i make a custom scenario that is hard in the beginning and easy in so late game is that is a very long scenario to complete. The only stuff is that work with rct2 open couse have 4//5 custom ride and some custom path.
@@deathdealer312 ooh, useless ellipsis within your comment. Look for your name in the dictionary under "pretentious." Anyway. That imparts no meaning on there actually _being_ a single "American" accent; only one that some people call "standard." If you meant that, then you should've specified. That refers to a very specific, seldom-used thing.
Any reason your adding brakes at the end of some coasters? My guess is in case of station brake failure, but since you have a much higher level of understanding of the game I assume there might be another reason. Or, it's for aesthetic purposes and i'm being silly. Either way, I love your content, can't wait for more!
The brakes serve another purpose as well: they allow the use of flat turns without having the lateral G-forces too high. That way you can fit a turn into a smaller space without having to re-design that part of the coaster (and that assumes you have the room to re-design the thing - you might not have the space for banked turns).
@@thecommunistpartyanimal6559 Sure. What you mentioned is also a legitimate use-case, of course, but what I mentioned is what I remember coming up most frequently when Marcel bothers to mention why he's putting regular brakes in.
