Join us at 7pm ET on Thursday, May 12th to watch The Collection of Anne H. Bass, immediately followed by the 20th Century Evening Sale LIVE from New York. The sales will be livestreamed globally from our salerooms in New York and Hong Kong, where clients can place bids.
This May, our spring 20/21 Marquee Week sales return to New York featuring The Collection of Anne H. Bass. Mrs. Bass was a leading philanthropist and a generous patron of the arts, known for her expert eye and unparalleled connoisseurship. Composed of 12 magnificent artworks, this collection comes directly from the interior of Mrs. Bass’s impeccably designed New York City home and features landmark works by leading 19th and 20th century artists, including Rothko, Monet and Degas.

I was the handyman in her building for almost 5 years. Handled all the Monet's. Had to take my shoes off when entering her place.

I wish they would just give a little more images of the art. I know they do a lot of it in the previews but still a better view during the bidding wouldn't hurt.

I agree. The zoom ins are nice to see the textures but it would be nice to see the full pieces more.

@@lindamon5101 There was a rare in-person bidding war between two people. It seems like so many sales are phones and the in-person audience are just spectators these days. It was quite interesting to watch two people bid against each other in the room.

@lamartinezola8507
@lamartinezola8507 Год назад
it is the demand, not really the work or the value of the work. Remember, wealthy people make money out of the thin air. They can come out with anything: auctioning africans was one of that crazyness. U can make a silly painting, and prince Charles of England happens to like it, and hang in his castle, that piece might cost at least $100.000 now, and more decades later. Bitcoin crazyness is the same almost same concept. I work trade floor in NYC, and those people make money out of thin air
