I pre-ordered the Revelator from Sweetwater, I can't wait to use it with OBS, Notion 6, Zoom and narration for remote drum lessons. Thanks for the video Joe!
This is a super great video. Once again, thanks for all your help with this stuff for us nubes! However, I did notice one thing, I don't have that single/multi button that you were talking about with universal control. I think it may because I have Microsoft instead of a MAC. I think with Microsoft, I have to go into Studio One and complete 10 more steps in order to get the multiple lines of audio. Otherwise, fantastic video! I really like how you go step by step for us newbies! The other "beginner" videos assume that I know too much! I know nothing about this stuff. Thanks for being so patient in your videos!
ok, sounds very good i'll gonna purchase it today.... But what i noticed in comparism to your older videos that you recorded with your old microphone -> now your voice sounds more present and understandable. What i am missing (and have always been adoring...) is the warmth that you had with the old mic
Question, when i pull up universal control, i dont have the option of selecting "Multi" it doesn't have that window, is there a way you guys can make a video on setting this up on a Windows PC? Thank you!
It’s marketed as a podcaster/streaming mic but it has some serious audio shaping tools...I’m curious how it sounds with just pure singing...close mic, prepared room, in the mix, etc. Male, female, horns.
Hi Joe. I bought two Revelators (also one for my daughter-in-law) two months ago. I use it in combination with S1 prof. . I am always very happy with your youtube contribution and the explanation about Presonus products. Is it possible that you give a good explanation about the use of the Revelator for the vocals. Which settings you use. What advice and more. Someone recently put an explanation for vocals on it, but it's too bad to use. I really hope this works. In addition, the revelator is very sensitive to all kinds of noise. Keystroke on your PC, use mouse, even your faderport. Will there be a good shockmouth for this. Really necessary. with greeting Henk From The Netherlands.
Could we route the output of the mix to the headphones (monitoring) and connect that to a amplifier + speaker for a live audience performance? I'm just wondering if this could make a use case for all the effects on the stage. That would be awesome!
Hey thanks for the video, quick question! The mic output seems to be different in the universal control vs obs studio. OBS tends to register a much higher decibel, should I go off the universal control measurements?
Every time I record or stream using my phone/iPad the audio goes only to the left side for the audience, I've tried every possible solution but nothing works and the support is useless. Definitely don't recommend if you're intending to use with your phone.
I have the EXACT same problem and the support refuses to acknowledge this, I tried everything possible and still on my lives the mic only comes out on one side. Definitely don’t recommend it if you’re going to use on your phone.
I just thought of something. In this video You're using ear buds plugged into the mic itself. Where would one plug in their Studio Reference Monitors if I'm listening though them?
Forgive me if I am sounding stupid in asking this. I use Studio One Artist as my recording software on a computer that is hardly ever online. I have been considering doing a live stream concert using backing tracks. Would this usb mic work with Ableton Live? The reason I ask is that I can download Ableton from my Presonus account.
Another question Joe Jonny Lipham just answered a question I had about setting up a Live Stream using Loopback features. I have my own YT Channel. I have OBS, and I will have a Revelator by Tuesday. A friend of mine is setting up his own Online Business Platform and uses Zoom for his Live Stream Broadcast. How would I be able to Record the Live Stream I create (like a walk through of a process I may use) so I can rebroadcast at a later date in say my YT Channel, or My Friend's FB Group?
I noticed a couple of other people mentioned The multi mode not available. Is that not an option for PC? I don't find the device mode option on my setup. Please respond, thanks
Farout . . . just got mine. Regarding Universal control . . . is this specific for the Revelator or if I already have Universal control, I don't need to re-download, correct?
Just a question ... Using the mic with Windows 10 on a laptop and try to synchronize doodly ... But there are always cracks an noice on the voice. Does it mean the laptop is too weak or slow to do the job. Is the mic that resource consumptioning. Thanks for help
It works with ios and android. I used it with my phone yesterday, not too great for facebook from my phone though as facebooks audio codec isnt very good
Hey Joe, would you also recommend it for mic'ing a guitar amp? So it would be an all-in-one solution for me: zoom and skype for work and recording for fun in my home studio?
I gues the mic can be chosen seperately as input or output as it is also connected via usb. But i'm sure you can record from both devices at the same time, as long as you set it up correctly in each track. What is your specific use?
When with are getting support for android and when with getting one with physical faders it be nice if you have 4 mix again and been able to mute your mike and ajust in the fly along with music systeam chat and mic and game it be a killer plus if you can buy dsp the revelato io24 had alot potential only if had dose physical faders I hope see this soon don't care the price but killer for streaming
I started using Presonus Sphere with a monthly subscription and got fascinated with all the products you guys are putting out (hardware and software). I just want some orientation regarding this scenario: I want to start a podcast with 3 or 4 people. What type of setup would you recommend? Do I need 3 or 4 Revelator? Thanks
As far as i found out so far, you can use different characteristics with this mic. In this case omnidirectional should work as the sound is the picked up from every direction around the mic...
Dear Presonus, why are the XT series monitors buzz like an old fridge? I was so hyped for the E7's but the transformer buzz is horribly loud. Why, oh why, Presonus :(
Does anyone know how to route the Revelator Mic to the Presonus StudioLive 32s Mixing Board? I figure since they are both compatible with each other, it should be a way to route them together so that I can record vocals in my DAW. :-)
Hi I have a question. We don’t know much about audiothings (personal training studio over here) but we want to use it for online training sessions where we stand in a room with music on (via sonos move). We explain every exercise and move with our clients. Our voices and music has to be clear. Is this also a good device for these kind of things that we do? Kind regards, Lara
Yep, it would be great for that. You'll want to place the mic close to you, though. If it's across the room, it's gonna pick up a lot of room sound. - Joe Gilder
Wait....so when I want to stream how I produce sth in NI Maschine, I need to set Presonus Rev as my Audio-Interface? I use Babyface Pro with 256 Buffersize and a bunch of Plugins in my Projects - will there be any Bufferproblems? Dont think that the Rev is made for big projects - but for streaming of just music or Inputs....
Revelator is unusable as a Desk-Mic with that Stand. You hear every little Key-Touch and Fingertip. Totally normal with Condenser Mics I know - but that Scenario should be shown too for Beginners and how to avoid that Problem. My Rev goes back - nothing special and the Control Software is more complicated than RME Apps 😂
@@presonus ? The Adapter which comes with the Mic to mount it on a Stand? yeah right but what about all the Adds with the Mic standing on the Table? or is there another Adapter/Mount for Table-Use?
