Saya dari suku dayak ngaju (kalteng) merasa terharu mlht video ini, karena orang2 pedalaman suku dayak gotong royongnya memang sangat kuat, saya juga termasuk anak pedesaan tpi tanah kelahiran ayah saya termasuk tempat terpencil dan kurang maju, tpi ketika saya pulang disana bnyk hal yg tdk bisa dilakukan diera modern skrng, apalagi tanpa ada sinyal semuanya terasa hangat seperti kembali dijaman dulu 🥹🥰

@@Kitkat_____ kalimantan malaysia? there is no kalimantan in malaysia. if you talk about the name of the island you mean borneo. because kalimantan is just a regional name.
As someone who was born in Pontianak, but has been living overseas for most of my life, this documentary is a brilliant way for me to connect and bring back memories of childhood, my primary school teachers are mostly Dayak in a catholic school in Pontianak.. glad that Indonesian government is letting the natives to keep their tradition and home, unlike some in Brazil and other part of the world, when the locals forests were industrialised.
Bila ditanya cita2...amat terharu dengar ,bila segelintir anak2 bercita jadi Pastor n guru sunday school..ini pertama kali sia dengar...kmi dr sarawakian..saluted

Jack, hi. Just to be clear; "Soon" - that's a Chinese family name, you're not Dayak Iban - then, so you don't speak for them, you're just expressing an outsider's position and view. Now with that established, do elaborate on what you meant in your opening sentence by: “People like this”? When you refered to the content host. People like what exactly? "White" outsiders perhaps? As opposed to what, people like yourself, Soon?... ... Perhaps "Yellow" outsiders? Or perhaps it's just you feel possessive of Sarawak, or Borneo, or Malaysia or perhaps the whole of S E Asia in some ways left unexplained here. I think Chris did better than many might have at not only gaining personal input and insight from the Iban but also bringing joy t them and doing wonders for international relations between ordinary people and that is very precious and worthwhile, his video will have already aided in breaking down the bigotry, racism, and generally widespread unacceptability of anything foreign or unknown to us - all! It's a human trait which most likely stems from our ancestral fear of attacks from other tribes / clans / races and is now, for the most part redundant as we use dialogue prior - to anihilation! - Also, are you suggesting that people are not subscribing to aboriginal channels about this content? Why didn't you suggest a few sites you think are good additions to this one if there are - (as you imply) - “good Dayak Iban photographers and narrators” out there, which I'm sure there are! - How about outsiders from Malaysia, people even like yourself perhaps, would they be driven enough to go out and live the life of their hosts for a brief while, and be so liked and accepted as this guy, Chris is? Before you answer that in your mind, remember, for you, it wouldn't be with Iban in Borneo, it would be as it is for Chris, foreign, unless you are foreign, far better it for me to assume. It's not as easy as you might imagine, Jack, now imagine it as a Chinese guy in Finland for example, with primitive facilities that you're not used to, in a hostile temperature; a freezing cold and dry environment that perhaps you're not acclimatised to, at a different altitude too which also affects the body, and surrounded by a language you can't speak - but do have an interpreter for! See, now that puts quite a different spin on things doesn't it? Could you do so well winning over and gaining the affection and respect of the local Finnish?😮 Another point, these documentaries are not a stuffy, accounts quantifying checklist of the people's social structure it's also about that very interaction between the exotic and it's foreign counterpart that generates a sense of occasion, that makes people rise to the occasion, that heightens frivolity and laughter, that brings out the best or worst in people and reassuringly often the best in human spirit. Obviously it did in this video seeing as Chris still has his head. 😅 Not that the Iban still remove heads to gain the strength of those they decapitate. -Or for any other reason! 🥴
Keren banget episode yg ini, Bang Kris! Belajar banyak tentang Komunitas Sungai Utik dan Dayak Iban melalui video ini. Could feel so much love in this 🙏
Oh my gosh Kris that was stunning! Such a fascinating insight into the daily life of the Dayak tribe. Those kids were so cute! I say every time how wonderful it is to be part of your adventure and how amazing your videos are but you have hit a new peak with this one - the detail, the slow motion, capturing the people’s expressions and character…. awesome. This has been the highlight of my Christmas Day and thank you for releasing this episode today. I hope you are having a peaceful and restful time with your family. It is truly deserved. Thank you 😊🙏🏻
Wow Sarah, what an amazing comment to light up this grey Friday! ⭐️ Thank you so so much! I'm appreciate how you noticed the expressions and the slow motion, something I spent a lot of time on 😃 Thank you as always for watching and supporting my friend! I have really enjoyed the time with my family here, and today is a tough day, because tomorrow I'm flying back to Jakarta. Have a wonderful new years eve! 😊 All the best - Kris
Thank you for showing about indonesia. My oldest who is mixed with Caucasian and Batak is so fascinated with Indonesia. She told me about the Dayak people from her school book. She was also proud to say to her classmates that her people were once cannibalism 😅. So, she will start watching your journey in Indonesia this week. Happy New Year

The Dayak Iban Utik Tribe, also known as the Ibanic Tribe or simply the Iban Tribe, is an indigenous group of people residing in the island of Borneo in Southeast Asia, specifically in the Malaysian state of Sarawak and Indonesian province of West Kalimantan. They are considered one of the largest ethnic groups in Sarawak. The tribe's language is Ibanic, and they are known for their traditional farming practices, weaving, and hunting. Historically, they were a headhunting tribe but have since abandoned the practice and embraced Christianity. The tribe's society is patriarchal, and men are considered the head of the household and the primary decision-makers. Women, however, have significant contributions in farming, weaving, and other household chores. The Dayak Iban Utik Tribe celebrates various festivals throughout the year, including the Gawai Dayak Festival, a thanksgiving ceremony celebrated in honor of the rice harvest. During this festival, the tribe performs traditional dances and musical performances, hosts feasts, and wears traditional costumes. Today, the Dayak Iban Utik Tribe faces challenges in preserving their culture and traditions due to increasing modernization and development in their region. However, efforts are being made to preserve their culture, including through the promotion of the Ibanic language, preservation of traditional arts and crafts, and revitalization of traditional practices.
Can't watch this without leaving a trace. What a documentary!! Again Kris you've done more than anyone can imagine. I'm not disappointed with the exchange of my time for this video. Worth it in every second. Thank you Kris so much.
Great video Kris. You did great job to document the life of Iban Tribe 👍. Iban Tribe are really conserving the forest and live with nature. Stay live with it. 👍 Government of Indonesia must protect them. Don’t make greedy people destroy the Iban Tribe, their forest and nature.
Saya trharu dengan video yg anda buat sangat natural, dan penuh ketulusan dsini, Bahkan gk ada dokumenter lokal yg melakukan hal sebagus anda cris, Respect to you cris.. Respect
I am so shocked. because I just know their culture & Iban slang language, 98% of them are the same as the iban people slang in Sarawak, Kapit area. although there are also Iban people near the Malaysian-Indonesian border but the Iban slang is far different
