I find it truly refreshing how you were all honest about feeling nervous when meeting each other. Most of us would try to play it cool and pretend that we're good at meeting new people
OMG I struggled with good friendships all my life, with finding people who wouldn't leave, or were extremely superficial, or ones who wouldn't stab me in the back. All through childhood from 6th grade until the end of uni. And in the last year I FINALLY found good friends, people who actually care, who make me feel like I belong and who finally make me feel seen, held and loved. I just got home after a day hanging out with them and you posted this video and my heart is so full right now

As an adult, I found myself actually making really meaningful friendships at the gym! I would meet people in a group class or someone I saw regularly on the gym floor who were like-minded and eventually made friends.

I’m in a similar spot, I just transferred to a new uni and just finished one year. I’ve been a student athlete for 3 years previously so finding a friend group wasn’t difficult. But now I’m just a regular student and I barely made 1 friend in class if that. It’s been pretty hard because I’m comfortable being alone but I’m afraid that I’m too comfortable now.

What im really scared about this of is that when ill go to college, move from my home and my country and probably go to UK, ill need to make friends and talk with people in english and its not my first language, i find hard making new friends in my own language but go there and easily talk with new people in english (mostly in UK since they all speak there fluently), my english isn’t even that bad and i understand it quit good, i watch movies, tv, vidoes, read books and news in english but i cant imagine doing that irl with new people…
People who are patient and genuinely want to be friends with you, will be there to understand your difficulties, accept you, and help you. Remember that. Those are real friends on top of other things!
Been struggling with making friends in my 20s as well and having social anxiety doesn’t help. Sometimes I wonder if I move to a different city/country, would I be more willing to try and this video gives me hope if that were to happen one day!
