Hey guys. I’m from Costa Rica and I have learnt USA English my whole life, however, I’ve always been charmed by British accent. I have recently subscribed to your channel and Lucy’s as well. I just want to thank you because I have leant a lot from you guys.... you are quite sarcastic and harsh sometimes but I understand it’s all about culture.... =)
I came across your channel from Lucy’s video and subscribed❤️ Your videos are perfect for me to learn more about Britain and improve my British English skills! My dachshund is 5 years old too🐶
I am moving abroad in about 6 weeks time on my own. I am going to work away for 6 months and honestly I think it's going to be the best thing I've ever done. I have never lived away from home before and I just needed a change so I'm off. I think you know if it's right for you at that time in your life. I have not had one single doubt and yes I will miss home and my family but it's great that now with the technology we have we can still keep in touch from far away. I'm actually considering making some vlogs and videos about my life out there so my friends & family back home can keep up to date with my life & maybe other people considering doing the same can see what it's like & make an informed decision x
I loved living abroad. I actually found it harder coming back home and got a little depressed. The most mundane task is more exciting in a foreign country. @ Lucy if you ever find yourself near the Chicago area in the US we can speak Spanish (español) and eat Mexican food.
I live in bay ridge Brooklyn, NYC which is a great neighborhood with great culture and people. If you move here to NYC, you might pick up the NY accent but it depends where you're at in NYC. I love these videos btw!
Oh the "living alone" thing , I don't know what to think of it , quite frankly , I'm a very "homely" kind of person ( Americans , No not what you're thinking !!! ) , which makes it even harder , I do like the idea of being independent and free thou , but it's still a conflict inside of me lol , here in Algeria we live in knid of "packs", we do , like .... Almost everything together , we even eat in one dish often ( well it's a big wide wooden dish , like 1m in diameter averagely ) , so when you're leaving ... Oh god .. It takes a lot of pressure and emotion to get over it ( if that makes sense ? ) I think that's enough nostalgia & loneliness talk , so I've been able to understand this video like 100% except the " bubble-a-there" one haha , and i do understand movies , tv shows like 90% usually , do you think you can rate my English ? , I received no special education in English , only media , literally , it is people like you that I learned English from .... Sorry for the essay ...
Being British: Joel & Lia Haha, that's amazing!😁 Since my tongue is not mature yet, I don't like the bitter taste of tea or coffee. Drinking tea is what I really want to do to be like a British. I hope I will achieve it in the future!
As I'm watching, this question sort of came into my mind because you guys are drinking tea... Do you have any suggestions of like, what's the best tea in your opinion ?
Being British: Joel & Lia Okay. Well, I've heard that brand for quite a few times but haven't tried it, and will do now. Thank you so much! It's amazing that you replied anyways. 😄😄
I don't understand how ppl who speak English can't understand u when u guys speak. There have been times (rarely, but it does happen) that there are dialects of England that r hard for me to keep up with, but ur accent is very very easy. Maybe it's all the masterpiece on pbs or bbc america i watch or something. Idk.
Hi, I would like that you make a livestream with lucy, you could do it on younow and streaming on youtube, then people also can make video all with you, a livestream on youtub is also good
Oscar isn't that old - and...please do a video including Oscar, I would love to see him. He looks so cuddly and sweet. My Mox ("Moxie the Doxie") is 7 1/2 and, because she's a dachshund, she will likely be with me for another 11-13 yrs. Can't imagine my daily life without her. That's why I was asking about bringing her to London. I'm working on getting her a Pet Passport. Because we are in the US, she hasn't needed one to travel around this country or Canada. Looking forward to seeing Oscar with you and Lia.
Being British: Joel & Lia Stealing someone's response to just say, i only landed on ur videos (and consequently Lucy's as well) about a week ago. Since then I've maybe watched 25 or so of them. Ur both adorable and hilarious. Just curious did u guys ever try to date at all in the beginning?
Can you help me, friend? Because I'm a new guy on this channel and I'm not a Westerner. Can you help me what "CBBC" is at the beginning of this video as Joel and Lia say hello? Thank you so much for your help and nice to meet you
You all are so cute! I like your videos and they are nice and clean. What do you do to make real money? Like do you have day jobs. I love London! I have a dream of living there for a few months and inviting all my granddaughters to come over and stay a few weeks each and showing them all the cool stuff you have.
Thank you! RU-vid is pretty much our full time job now. Lia occasionally works as a video editor for other creators and Joel works as a voiceover artist!
That's how I feel! Always wondering how I'd decorate, what foods would be in my pantry, etc. Definitely don't want to be without my husband and kids, but it's interesting to think about what you'd choose if you didn't have to make any compromises.
