Nice video guys, avocados are the best, sweet potatoes too. Farm work is hard, don’t kill yourself guys. Mado is dressed up for winter and Glen is in shorts😂
@@GlenAndMado That's very Kiwi of you. All year round shorts are not uncommon in NZ, in part because our winters are quite mild compared to most of the rest of the world, though the icy chills we've been having over the last few weeks will challenge the resolve of even the staunchest shorts fanatics. 🥶

Late greetings for Mado's Birthday. I have 2 days left for my trip to New Zealand. (From East London, Johannesburg, Dubai then to New Zealand: 2 days of traveling). Can't wait. What is the chance of passing paths on our holiday. "Whatever". Thank you for sharing your story. Regards 🇿🇦
This is it: Today, we are making our way for our holiday. The long trip (Hurry up and wait). Fly from East London, South Africa. Johannesburg. Then to Dubai. Then to New Zealand and the last flight to South Island. We land on Sunday. I can feel that fuzzy feeling. Chow for now.

In general, Kiwis are pretty flexible about work hours due to our laid-back attitude; as long as the work actually gets done within a reasonable timeframe, there's usually not too much fuss about when exactly it happens. For example, depending on the nature of the work, it's normal for parents to leave work early so they can pick up their kids and such, and then stay back late some other time when something needs to get finished. Or if someone likes doing things at their own pace but is willing to spend their own time making sure it gets done, that's usually not a problem. Some people prefer more rigid schedules and explicit work expectations, which can certainly help to prevent one party from taking advantage of another, but for the most part Kiwis are inclined towards a give and take relationship that can flexibly accomodate people's individual needs and circumstances, and you just hope that the other party shares the same ethos and won't take advantage. Whether or not this is a good thing depends on the situation-when it works, it's great for everyone, and when it doesn't work, it can be quite miserable. The hardest thing for many Kiwis is closing the lid on something when the other party is taking you for a ride, because we tend to avoid confrontation and will often suffer through an untennable situation until it's become absolutely unbearable.
we have started to feel that actually. love this approach though as we are never pushed to work our hours in time and told we can do them the week after to make them up and stuff just like you mentioned! :)
You’s make me laugh. Next time you can just stand on the live wire fence and walk over. The Fence stretches and you don’t damage it. Omg, she threw the potato into the bucket. Pine trees are planted for land stability and wind protection.
Great to see u enjoying country life down here. I’m watching and laughing. Not sure if u know but if u need to ripen avocados put then in a dark cupboard. Keep it up u guys are doing great.
You need a work visa for doing this in NZ. Although you are not getting paid its still a business exchange because you are offering free labor in exchange for free rent.
Was that the only food the pigs got fed? They had a trough there. Were you meant to give them water? Or put food in the trough. She needs to move their pen. That's disgusting keeping them like that!!
Love watching your videos, but so sad to see pigs in such a tiny cage. With all that land the farmers should be ashamed of themselves. Those pigs climbing up the fence like that is sad to see as they are hungry, no paddocks to roam around in. Made me very sad. And putting them under trees that could fall.
