You're right. It's loose and sloppy. This is a raw clip from my live stream where I sight-read song requests from my chat on the fly. Most covers you see on RU-vid are rehearsed over and over before recording and then heavily edited. If I practice a song like that, I can play it cleanly. But live sight-reads of songs on the spur of the moment without practice are going to be a little rough. Its worth it though, because I have so much fun playing live requests for my viewers, and none of them seem to mind that they aren't perfect performances. And this way I can post hundreds of covers (check out my channel) instead of just a few. I'm sure if I worked on this I could tighten it up, but I'm very happy with it for an on-the-fly sight-read of a request. I'm actually kind of proud of my sight-reading ability. I worked hard on it. There's a million guitarists out there who play better than me, but I can cold sight-read a song as good as anyone. If you watch my videos as sight-reads, rather as rehearsed performances, you might see them more favorably. Anyway, you aren't wrong, and thanks for watching, but I hope now that you know the context you can understand the sloppiness.
