I LOVE EVERYTHING ABOUT THIS VIDEO! I don’t even know where to begin! First of all, I appreciate your husband’s candidness and no non-sense approach to finances - sometimes you just gotta tell people how it is. I can also see so much of myself and my husband between the two of you, really learning from each other and working towards the future together. Lastly (tryna keep it short here lol), I agree with the rest of the comments saying it would be great to hear more from the two of you about all things family and parenting and even finances!

I love you guys! Lots of really good info. I cackled out loud at hubby’s comments on peer pressure. With the toy thing, our library has a toy library and you can borrow a toy for 6 weeks. So whenever we do see something our tactic is “let’s see if the toy library has one”. If it does we get to bring the item home to play with and then return once we’re inevitably bored with it. It’s a great way to get him that special thing without accumulating more rubbish once the novelty has worn off.

Omg! This would be an amazing service for so many people in the U.S!!! And yes, it’s such a great way to teach kids not to constantly have to buy and that you are sharing this toy with other kids as well. Miss you girl 💛

Really loved this video. Love y’all’s idea of affirming but not buying what your kid wants. I saw on a video one time that a parent takes a picture with the thing the kid wants to affirm their ideas of things they want, but not buy them. We are debt free as well and live a minimalist lifestyle because of budget restraints. We try to talk all the time about just being content with what we have. This might sound silly but I will watch RU-vid videos of people shopping at Target and it really quenches my thirst for shopping without buying anything.

Loved it. We’re definitely on the same journey. We use CC’s in the same way as well, spend what you actually have. Question: Lets say you bought something worth 150.00 using a CC. Lets also say that the minimum payment is due tomorrow for 25.00. How do you pay those 150.00 off so that the CC reports good payments to the Credit Bureau? All at once? Minimum and then the rest?
@JuliWilliams
@JuliWilliams 4 года назад
From my husband, what matters really is that it gets paid, what he would do is pay a larger amount than the minimum. But it’s up to you really how much you want to pay, as long as it gets paid. If you have any questions you know you can always call 😊💛

Love the part about the car. I have a car that is 14 years old and looks new. I just take care of it. It is great not having that debt or payments. I invest that money instead. On the other hand, I have a coworker who buys a new vehicle every 3 years. Mind blowing. I would never do that.

But what about having a good credit score for things like insurance? I’m going debt free as well. I think it’s so unfair that they use credit to determine the rate you’re going to get. They should go by your driving history and age ONLY. Not your marital status or your credit. It’s stupid!
@KP-hi1om
@KP-hi1om 3 года назад
I agree. Once we became debt free the wife's credit score started going down. Mine increased because the mortgage is in me name. One hack we use is to have a streaming service charged to the credit card $9/month and pay it off. But I agree that credit scores are a scam.

Many people get into debt going to college. How can a collage student go to school without having that huge amount of debt. Does he/she choose a career they can afford while going to college, should they wait til they can afford it? Love your videos!
@_Be.lle_
@_Be.lle_ 3 года назад
Go to a community college and take your time there if you still can’t afford it. Yes you may have friend who finish in 4years but you don’t know what they have going to be able to finish in that time. They could have scholarships, grants, financial aid, and loans. Also you can work at your institution. If you work there long enough you can get discounts towards your tuition as a student. P.s ask them how long it would take before you can start getting the discount. When you transfer go to any instate school that has your major, it’s be cheaper in the long run. Lastly, make sure your degree is something that you like and believe that it’ll be profitable in our market and future market. Don’t get a degree in something that you aren’t going to fully pursue or be willing to move to a different environment where that degree is needed. Lastly TAKE YOUR TIME and don’t feel the pressure to graduate Bc everyone else when you aren’t financially in a place to do so. Understand your financial restrictions and move in a way where those restrictions don’t affect you in the future. The best thing I did was avoid Salle Mae. 3 years in community college, 2 years finishing up my bachelors degree, and coming out debt free!

why do you want to build wealth?
@JuliWilliams
@JuliWilliams 4 года назад
We want to build wealth, not to be confused with “getting rich”, because we want to be able to have freedom from working during our retirement, to have wealth to pass down to our children when they become adults and are trying to build their life so that they can also live a life of freedom. We believe there is great blessing in being able to build wealth not just for ourselves but to also help others.

Beautiful couple, great advice. Please put God 1st in everything. Matthew 6:33-34 But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you. “Therefore do not be anxious about tomorrow, for tomorrow will be anxious for itself. Sufficient for the day is its own trouble. James 4:13-15 Come now, you who say, “Today or tomorrow we will go into such and such a town and spend a year there and trade and make a profit”- yet you do not know what tomorrow will bring. What is your life? For you are a mist that appears for a little time and then vanishes. Instead you ought to say, “If the Lord wills, we will live and do this or that.” Our Lord Jesus Christ is coming back.. will you be ready? *please* repent and Seek God while He may be found. Tomorrow is not guaranteed.. John 3:16 For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. Shalom
