Brad moved to La Paz, Baja California Sur, after retiring in the U.S. in search of his next home.
His original plan was to scout several cities across Mexico for his ideal location. But after being in La Paz for a few months, he decided this city was worth setting some roots in for a little while longer.
When asked about his experience with the locals, Brad said, "I've always found the Mexican people to be kind, generous and welcoming."
Brad also planned his move to Mexico after considering several other countries. But he chose Mexico because it checked off his 4cs, which are:
Climate Culture Cost and Care
Today, Brad enjoys making new friends in La Paz and staying busy with the weekly meetups and language exchange events in town. His $2,500 USD a month budget has afforded him the opportunity to not only live comfortably but also worry-free. "The cost of living in La Paz is certainly less than in the United States." Brad said.
"I came to Mexico with a $2500 USD/Month Budget, and I am still confident I can live really well on that."
Brad certainly seems to be living his best life. An adventurer at heart, he has traveled to almost every state in Mexico and continues to look forward to more exploring. When asked if he plans to live in Mexico in the long term, his answer was a resounding "Yes!"
He also said, "I really feel peaceful and happy here. I think the sunshine has something to do with that. Meeting new people, trying different foods-it has really had a positive effect on my life."

Thank you Brad. I enjoyed listening to you and watching your foot journey. I've been researching parts of Mexico lately and am taking Spanish on line. Took it in high school in So Cal a century ago and have hardly used it. Spent a lot of time in Alaska and Spanish isn't spoken much where I lived. Am now living in a 5th wheel up in the mountains in southern NM. I'm single female with two cats and worked in the mental health field til I was 77. Have seen a lot and really want to live where people are friendly and welcoming and the weather is mild. Things have changed a lot in the States and they may even change more in the near future. I'm in an affordable and peaceful environment where I am now, but would like a little warmer climate year around(and to be around more relaxed folks). So, listening to people tell their stories is exciting to me (I'm kind of a gypsy-type) and I, too, like seeing what's around the next bend. Please keep sharing your experiences on the exploring journeys you take. Thanks. Tam.

Just watching your video this morning from Northern California and appreciate your information. You’re in the exact position that I am in as far as planning to relocate in Mexico, for the reasons that you suggested, as I mentioned are similar to mine. I have been considering areas like Puerto Escondido, which I visited a month or so ago as well as San Pancho, but have also given some thought to La Paz or Mazatlan Certainly would like to hear more from you after your visit the other places that you’re planning to go to My thoughts from videos I’ve seen like yours in La Paz, and a few in Mazatlan make the area look quite large, large in like a bigger city then I was interested in compared to the Rinconada zone of Puerto Escondido where I stayed Your thoughts on that would be appreciated in the future in good luck Steve

@davidsebastianelli1326
@davidsebastianelli1326 3 месяца назад
If you like hot and humid to really hot and really humid you would like Merida. Oh, can't forget about the bugs and mosquitos too. In the last five years it's also gotten quite expensive relatively speaking for Mexico. I live in Ensenada, it's one of a few cooler beach cities in Mexico and the weather here is great year round with no bugs or mosquitos. Today it was a sunny 70 and it will get down to 50 tonight. A lot of the homes here have fireplaces for those colder nights. Merida today was 99 with the humidity making it feel like 105 with temps tonight at around 75, both with 85% humidity. BTW- With no A/C needed my electric bill is around $7.00us to $10.00us max per month where as in Merida it could be up in the hundreds. Buena suerte!

What was your visaincome requirement. It has skyrocketed as Californians and others have driven up prices in resort areas.
@daniellekennaday3937
@daniellekennaday3937 3 месяца назад
The visa income requirements are based on the Mexican minimum wage, which has been increasing significantly, relatively speaking, for several years. It has nothing to do with "Californians driving up costs". Here in La Paz, there are probably more Canadians than Californians, so that is really irrelevant.

@@HLJlovejoyIf you have a Medicare Advantage plan you may be covered in an emergency only. If you have residency (temp or perm) you can enroll in IMSS. I haven't used IMSS but hear it's long wait times and not what most Americans would be used to. Better know Spanish or have an interpreter. Private doctors are affordable to pay out of pocket, which is what I do now. No major issues, at least for now. Private Insurance is expensive and you need to research things like pre-existing conditions and the like. Been in Mazatlan for about 1 year. Lots of doctors speak English that have a private practise here. Depending on your financial and health situation, healthcare could be a big concern.
