My name is Jessica. My husband, David, and our two cats have been traveling on and off for years. After planning a transition to full time RV life beginning in 2018, we finally purchased a travel trailer and and then hit the road on November 1st, 2021. Thank you, Michele! I hope you can too! I always missed my kitties when I traveled without them. We actually trained them before we started traveling with them to hotels, moves, etc., and by the time we got an RV they were practically pros. This is what we did. I live in an ATC toy hauler I would like to warn you about Valley Fever in Tucson Arizona there’s dozens of RU-vid‘s on it is from the fungus in the soil if you breath those fungus spores you can get deathly ill and you have to be on antifungal drugs and people can die from it and dogs die from it I guess cats can if they got in the soil please do your research because I researched it for six months and son staying away from Tucson and Phoenix area. I wish you safe and healthy journey

Thank you for putting that out there! It's definitely something more people need to be aware of. I did hear about Valley Fever after we moved to a house in Phoenix and I've been through some haboobs during monsoon season. We also lived near a mountain preserve. Sometimes when I would swim in the pool after dark I didn't know I was in dust until it was too late. It can really sneak up on you. I actually have a friend whose doctor found a nodule on her lung in an x-ray that they thought was cancer. Turns out it was Valley Fever and she had no idea. For us, the benefits of being in the desert have outweighed the risks. Health wise, I always feel a million times better than I ever did living in the northeast but precautions are definitely a must!

Love the video. Yes I've been to Tucson, camped there in tents in summer. Love the aroma of the environment. I've also had a couple business trips in the 90s. Saw Mission San Xavier del Bac, hike in Sabino Canyon, toured Saguaro National Park. I was in my teens and loved it. We have 4 cats, one is a 7 month old kitten, and just bought RV last year so that we could take our cats. Success with 3. It will be interesting this coming season with our fur ball full of energy. Yours are adjusting well.

Oh wow! It sounds like you are in for a fun camping season. I can't imagine doing it with four cats but who knows. We've come close to adopting more since we've been on the road so anything is possible at this point. LOL.

The one thing about cross country road trips that is super inconvenient is that when you break something, you can't always just order a replacement right away. That's what happened when I broke my external microphone in Alabama and why you may notice inconsistencies with audio. I have since gotten a new mic so this video is a combo of that and the camera mic. As someone who worked as an audio professional for the first decade of my career life, it's a huge pet peeve of mine and I'm sorry! I still hope you enjoy the video.

We purchased our ATC late November it’s been torturous to have it sitting outside and not being able to use it 🥺 camping is hard in Michigan when there’s several feet of snow 🥴 We are a family of 6 unfortunately full time living in it just can’t work right now but we are so excited to use it!

What's the name of the RV Park you stayed at? We've stayed at Gilbert Ray Campground, but you can only stay for 1 week. Love the hiking around Saguaro National Park & Tucson Mountain Park!

Enjoyed your video(s). Currently in the Vigin Islands with two stray cats and thousands of Coqui Frogs.. I too have a ATC Toy Hauler (8.5x24) back in Tennessee, Great! I've also have had the same issues with the entry door and was delighted to see your solution. Can you update me on the pull-out step now that you've had it for a bit. How'it's holding up? Would you do it all over again? See you on the road..

It's now been over two years since we installed the pullout step and we have zero regrets except that we wish we had done it sooner. Did you find those cats in the Bahamas? Are you taking them with you? We're in Florida right now and the cat distribution system keeps trying to choose us. I'm not sure how many more cats we can fit in 238 sf. 🤣

They found me here on St Thomas and don't seem interested in leaving. I'm here for another 6 months before returning to TN and 4 Whippets.. If they don't come with, I'll certainly find them a good home before leaving..@@GeographicallyFree
