I just ran across this video today. I'm thinking about moving to Atlanta from San Francisco for a lower cost of living and to be closer to family. I'm wondering how Covid has affected the city. The pandemic and the lockdown policies have pretty much killed SF, to the point that all you see downtown is boarded up stores and homeless camps everywhere. It's become a ghost town. How has Atlanta fared? Are you seeing the same kinds of things there?
Georgia is no where near the restrictions of the rest of the country, especially California. Its actually the opposite, and our economy is thriving because of it.
Just moved to Cobb county last Sept from WA and planing to move back soon. Property tax: county tax+ city tax which is a lot higher. Impossible to get in a good school district w/o living in the city limit. Groceries are taxed at 2% (0% in WA) and GA has state income tax too. I think it is not affordable for me, maybe for others. The weather is nice and there are a lot to do. GA Cobb County is great for retirees but not a working class like me.
Of the Atlanta metro counties, Cobb has the lowest overall sales tax and lowest property taxes of all metro counties. Check out my latest video on Why Everyone is moving to Cobb
Mainly ITP close to downtown, midtown and Buckhead. OTP in the suburbs is where everyone is moving bc of that same reason. Crime is almost nonexistent OTP (outside the Perimeter)
@@azizabbas9916 They are night and day. Atlanta has substantially lower cost of living, much lower taxes, much less restrictions, we aren't overrun by drugs and homeless in the streets like SF, housing costs are a fraction of SF's, job market is stronger, better schools, etc...
