I lived all over the US. Grew up in the tri-town area. Lake Michigan water in NWI is the best water you can drink anywhere. You dont need a filter and you would be crazy to use a water filter. Lake Central is a great school, you would also be crazy to send your kids to a private school as the public LC schools are better than any private school. You will get less of an education and opportunity at private schools in the tri-town area. That chart you showed was wrong, there is no such thing as "Schererville HS", Schererville goes to Lake Central. If you are a true daily biker and do not want to have to drive/park to get to the large paved trail network, then Schererville is where you want to live. Dyer requires biking down busy roads or driving in your car and parking to get to the good bike trails. It is possible the Pennsy Greenway will get connected all the way to Sheffield one day as there is a corridor for it. Right now it is a dirt trail. Maybe ask the town if the have plans to pave it anytime soon. There is a sidewalk down 213, but it ends about 2 miles short of the Pennsy Greenway. No idea why they did not finish the sidewalk the rest of the way. You can also take Main street, but again the sidewalks stop short and there is about 1 mile gap of driving in the busy road to get to the Greenway trail. Either way, you cant go wrong living in the tri-towns. Schererville, Dyer, St. John. Fun facts about Dyer. There used to be "Triangle Airport" right off 213 where Briar Cove Dr is, that is why it is also called Airport Rd. If you look on the map, that neighborhood is in a shape of a triangle as it was built where the airport used to be. Also 213 name follows the Chicago Road numbering system.
Agreed about the water- the content about the filter would be for areas of the region on well water. I don’t recall having Schererville high school in this video as I’m aware that Schererville goes to Lake Central. I’ll take a look at those slides and revise if I had a typo. We chose private school for a few reasons, one being that private school offers a Spanish immersion tract, which produces bilingual students - that’s a great leg up to have in life that public schools don’t offer.
