Try the frozen veggies and frozen fruit, they're less expensive. Actually even meat from the frozen aisle is less expensive Also beans, peas, lentils, chickpeas they are very nutritious and less expensive if you buy them in bulk uncooked and you soak them overnight usually and then the next day cook But in Germany you are blessed with discount stores like Aldi, Lidl; Kaufland for a bit higher price but larger variety. I know because I buy from Germany, it's less expensive than the border country I live in 😅
