Great, I watched a video on RU-vid of a guy who thought himself japanese and spoke just like a native. He said you must first learn hiragana , katakana, basic japanese grammar and 1000 most common japanese words , then immerse yourself in japanese like charge your phone settings to japanese and watch only/mostly japanese shows and don't try to think in English, imitated tell you understand. Immersion without learning what was mentioned above is useless. Kanji will learn as you go on. Hope it helps stay blessed
