Today is day 3 of me living in my car now. I’ve been watching your videos and taking notes. I’ve been sleeping at Planet Fitness. So far I haven’t gotten a knock. I see other people that sleep here too so it’s comforting to be honest. It does get scary at times especially when you wake up to a loud noise.
I hope you transition smoothly into this lifestyle! Over time you'll subconsciously be able to differentiate normal sounds of the night from other sounds. At least i have noticed that
1 year living in my car. And working full time. Chrysler town & country. Can’t wait for winter again. Summer is so hard to live in car. Winter is way better. I am trying to get me a room in hotel every week. I need that 1 day in motel to rest from this lifestyle. It is not easy life. Hardest part is to find safe place to park over night. Also it is very boring life.nothing very fancy as some youtubers trying to present. It is far from fancy and cool lifestyle. Get yourself camper van (if possible ) in which you can stand up. It makes huge difference. I wish all the best to all of you car lifers. God bless
I'm so sorry for all of you in this thread. I've been one check away from the streets when I was younger, but not actually on the streets. Thankfully things worked out after I scraped my way through college. Please stay safe. Positive thoughts your way.
@@LolaIzKola so you bros are working jobs too? I get the idea of living in a van but what about food and stuff. How do you get the money to pay for it without a job? My man is doing fedex which is some tough labor. I imagine hes funky.
Yes, thank you for feeding the kitty cats. Most people don't like cats, and so many kitties suffer from neglect. I am a big cat lover. Keep your head focused on your goals. Taking one day at a time.
What an outstanding individual you are, working your way to achieve a goal and being kind to animals along the way. You’ ll reach your goal and I’ll keep watching your channel!
Jesus Christ... How did it come to this, that a young person in the prime of their life, at their most productive age, has to live in a car for so many years? Don't get me wrong, it's a great adventure, but the era of expensive houses and apartments should come to an end. It's not just a shame for the country, but for the world, that people have to live like this in the 21st century. I understand living this way for a year for the "adventure" or to save up for a small apartment or a down payment on a mortgage... but when I read the comments under this video, and there are people doing the same, or worse, staying in hotels just to feel the comfort of a bed, I start to wonder which direction the world is heading.
You are doing the right thing! You will have better life than most of the young people later. I work 2 jobs most of my career life! It has not been easy, but I have achieved my goal.
You're right about the cost of housing but you are wrong about the rest. Nomads have existed since the beginning of time, explored, established trade routes, and mapped the world. None of the nomads I know would trade their lives for anything else ever again. It's a freedom unknown to most people. And most of the nomads I know are seniors who wish they had done this instead of living the "normal" life they lived with the confines of jobs they hated and everything we're all socialized to think is normal. Modern industrialized society is anything but natural and the stress, anxiety, depression, violence, alcoholism, drug addiction, etc. that stems from living that way is obvious to anyone looking back at it whereas the pure joy and exhilaration of living with nature is incomparable. EDIT: I refer to "vanlifers"/nomads who live on the road, boondocking as they go. Living in a city in a vehicle is another beast, but it still beats working three-four jobs just to pay for the apartment you sleep and shower in because you're too exhausted for anything else. I've been there and done that and have zero desire to ever go there again. I only wish I had known about this lifestyle back then because my life would have been so much better. You do you though...
Normads life is a secret gem. Why live a life with stress and anxiety, but end up not having enough money? That’s the problem for a lot of seniors nowadays. It is good to know you enjoy life! Nothing is more important than enjoying life! We only live once!
You are an incredible human, mate. Humble, organised, determined, considerate, kind and self sufficient. I find it ironic that there'd be millionaires and billionaires out there with endless amounts of wealth but they don't even compare to your upstanding character. Your video made me smile and I've now subscribed. Keep it up, mate.
you're so handsome and strong man. I see the tired in your eyes and hear the stress in your voice but you're holdin' on strong. Anyone who has you in their life is blessed.
I lived in my car for 3 years in California. It got me motivated to start my RU-vid channel, pay my debt and start a savings. Thank you for showing your journey ✨also the pets are so cute!
Great video. It's super refreshing to see somebody talk about saving up money by working a regular job and frugal living. That is gonna be the trip of a lifetime.
Best of luck on your goals, man. Frugality is tough sometimes, but the long-term rewards are absolutely worth it. Thanks for sharing your day. Be well!
Just started my car life adventure today. I'm sleeping in a kind of out of the way parking lot near a nice trail I like to hike. Hopefully shouldn't get spotted. I know this life won't be easy, but I've put a lot of thought into it, planned out what I'm going to do, and quite honestly, I'm enjoying the new found freedom, and FINALLY being able to save money. This is a lifestyle I never thought I needed, but somehow it just seems like the right thing for me. Good luck out there anyone staying in their car, or storage unit, or wherever. Stay under the radar, stay safe, and stay positive. Great video, man. Keep em coming
I'm going to live in my car for the next 3 years of college to save money. Housing costs are really expensive and I want to save my money for traveling and post-grad living expenses. Thats sick that you saved that much bro keep up the good work.
Good on you, my man. I'm about to start my journey to living out of my 4Runner full-time at the end of September. It's been 1 year in the planning. I even bought a new 4Runner to accommodate the lifestyle. By doing so, I can save as much as $2000 per month that I would have spent on rent & utilities 😱 This lifestyle change will save me $20k-$25k a year. That's AFTER I've paid my life expenses.
Another video I saw from a year ago or so… a fella lived in converted work vans and such. Pretty much doing what you’re doing. Taking showers at a gym, living in a vehicle full time. He now owns his own property in Arizona with a mobile home on it. His own business customizing cars. No mortgage. He said, “when you don’t have to pay rent or mortgage the money just stacks.” A lot of young folks are looking at never being able to own their home, that they’ll be renters forever. You found the “hack.” You soon will be able to afford to buy property, put a “barndominium” on it or in a few more years but an already built custom home without taking out a mortgage!
I like your style kid... saving and planning for your roadtrip sounds amazing... Once you get the first 100k... the next are way easier. Keep it up! Also love the video editing. I dislike vanlife videos where all they do is cook... you are my kind of person who likes to keep it simple.
@@RavRoving maybe I missed the video but do you have one explaining why you want to travel instead of use the money for a house or some land? As you get older you may regret it...just sayin. I bought some stupid shit when I was young and it didn't do anything for me when I was older. If I could go back, I would do things differe. 175k you can make a great future for yourself.
I will add that I spend my life saving for a house and paid it off and such and I am financially set but nothing beats a lifetime of experiences, travel and doing things... so @RavRoving is doing exactly what he should be doing with his money. Houses and property are overrated. Experiences and travel are the golden ticket to happiness in life.
@@RavRoving okay , didn't want to overstep, just curious and giving my experience. I never listened to my father and as time went on, he was right about some shit. He didn't give me much game, but he knew from his experiences some stuff wasn't worth it. He was pretty against labor intensive jobs, I was young and just saw the checks. Meanwhile overtime, your body is not what it used to be and you wish you stuck with school to get a job at a computer or something. So your depressed at 30 wishing w/ no skills that translate to the jobs you would be happier in..not to mention the payscale is different without a specialize skill or degree, I worked delivery too and its shitty man. Just offering up my experience because that money put toward the right stuff can be lifechanging. Hold off on traveling til you set and it can be beautiful. Once again do you, I just wanted to be someone that went down a route that i wish i didn't. If given the game a different way, i would be in a much happier place...but i didn't.
Won’t be too much longer reaching your monetary goal. Your day in the life is organized productive maximizing waking hours incorporating fitness nutrition💪😎
@@RavRoving Sweden has the so called right "Allemannsrätten" and it means that wild camping in your car is at parking spots and in the nature totally legal. I hope you can once fullfill your dream.
Your determination, planning & discipline is admirable - hope you achieve your dreams 👍 talk to as many people as you can each day - it helps us to feel connected
If I were your parent I'd be worried sick about you every night. I don't even know you and I'm worried. You seem like such a kind and gentle person. I hope better times are on the way for you. Positive thoughts your way.
@@RavRoving Hey, Man I'm trying to get back to gig jobs again: Uber Eats/Door Dash Would you advise to work FedEx, as a 9-5 worker, with a salary or just delivery gigs will do, to gather money? My goal is to close down by debts and save up a pretty good sum as well
He seems pretty responsible. Although I think he should put his $200,000 towards a HOUSE. Then, with no mortgage he could continue to save money and still do multiple road trips.
I lived in a Honda Civic with 395k miles at the end for 2 years, a Chevy lumina 2 1/2yrs, ford astro van 6mo, dodge ram van 3yrs, Pontiac trans sport 1 year All in CO, UT AZ and NC
You seem to be an amazing person. I love everything about this video, and your voice is so cool and and soothing. You should consider making some ASMR video like reading a story or something that effect. I think it would be worth it. I mean I'm half way asleep listening to your voice. Anyway😅 I found you video, cause I wanted to do the same. Living humble and saving up. I am currently in my 5th apartment/house in 15 years with mold. Unfortunately it seems what I can affort, in not up to date and in 4 of them it was hidden under the floors, cuppards and walls. I get extremely ill from the exposure to the mold, and I have reached a point where it's too much for my spirit and finances. I've had roadtrips in my car before, so I have an idea what I'm getting myself into. And at this point it feels like freedom, to keeps it as simple as possible, and gives me a chance to save up for something better. I'm 51, from Denmark - yes my country has gone down hill also. Supposed to be a wellfare country, but there's no help here for my situation. Thanks for showing you life living in a car. Bless you🙏
Good luck to you man. You are living in modern times and everything is expensive. Good luck on your future road-trip, you might want to consider doing a Spartan race in Montana. Take care man, stay safe
Hey Austin , Thankyou for sharing your car life and your job ,I already thought you where cool until I saw you interest in Animals 🤗now I think your SUPER COOL .Sticking with buddy your going to b a great inspiration to many showing how you set your goals and achieving them your Dream .All the very best looking forward Tagging along .Stay Safe, Stay Alert, and most of all Be happy 💞From Me V Aust the land Down Under God bless
As someone with self-diagnosed ADHD I couldn't stop watching this to its completion. I think it was the editing, narration and sound quality. I have no intention of living in my car but enjoyed watching this video.
Wish you all the best! I do camping part time in my tesla model Y and it's been great for camping any season bc of the camp mode. Consider it for future if you ever decide to change your car
Good video thanks 🙏🏼 I live part time in a converted van by my choice. I’m a musician so it’s great for making a lot of noise. It’s also nice staying at the beach and I saved a significant amount of money. Best of luck
Love these types of videos. I’ll be watching your journey and we’ll done for saving so much money, already. I’d love to be able to travel . I’ve only left the U.K. once and if I had the money, I’d love to travel the world.
Damn, I've been in my van for 3 years, not sure how you did it, that's crazy. I know the drill, having a storage unit, my bonus is that I can already travel anywhere in the US. That is awesome man, your goals.I joined your channel, I need a boost to help saving more. I might have to get the Starlink because every other option just sucks for data.
I see Buffalo is on your road trip map. Lots to see and do here! Canal Side, lots of festivals, music venues, nearby Niagara Falls and of course you have got to go to Bar Bill’s for wings and beef on weck!
Fellow delivery driver here! doing deliveries for the Swiss mail service, I was contemplating living in my car to save money faster but I didn't think it was possible until I saw your video. What's your long term plan? you buying a house once you reach your goal?
7 years wow time does go by fast doesn’t it I been living. My car for 3 years and I like small environments now it’s better but the heat is what I can’t stand
Crazy thing bro, u have a rav4 and live on it, in my country Brazil rav4 is almost in the luxury car stages, even tho it's a 2018 like u said. US dollar country is way another level o living!
God Bless You young man.....I hope you reach all of your dreams. You should take that money you are saving and buy 32 Foot Sailboat and sail it all over the world. You can pick one up in great condition for 40K. Wind is Free and you have a built in comfortable home. When you need a rest you can just anchor for free or pay a few hundred per month for a livable slip dock type set up.
You’re going to be way over-prepared - but there’s nothing wrong with that! Also… 1) Video games are awesome stress relievers. 2) So are cats. Thanks for feeding them.
Yes... Iowa can be a lonely place to live... most of the young people are either at church or have moved out to other states where jobs are plentiful.... not much gathering for young people to socialize.... I drove through Nebraska and Iowa to Wisconsin twice...very lonely... nothing exciting....
Are your parents alive? Would they take you in, if you keep working? Do you have family or friends that would let you shower or wash your clothes if needed? I think landlords have gotten sick with greed. As there are " speed" limits on roadways, there should be " Greed" limits on landlords! God bless you for outsmarting them!
Tak ramai yang homeless di sini. Di pekan ni mmg tiada. Mungkin begitu juga di seluruh malaysia. Cuma ramai yang miskin di sesetengah tempat. Mungkin di kawasan bandaraya ada yang homeless. Itu pun jarang sangat.
