We have been working on this mud house for about two and a half months and it is about time that I finally got to live in it.
I feel grateful that I decided I have been able to live a life so close to Nature and now I will be one step closer. To live in something that the very stuff under our feet is made of.
I believe that this way of living was maybe an ancient art form somewhere amongst human history of the homo sapien species but also to feel good about the fact that the decision of wanting to have a house could be made with a lower carbon footprint.
Beyond all that nothing beats the feeling of when I put my hand on its walls and I can wholeheartedly feel grateful to this being on whom the consciousness of my species was born or also possibly fostered ( In case you are a panspermia believer)

When I lived in tropical countries such as India(2 years when I was a little boy), Myanmar (4 and a half years), and Thailand (2 years), my father used to create wooden frames filled with mosquito screens on every window frame and door frame and this kept our place very comfortable and in Myanmar we renovated a raised loft room that had tree branches all around used to have rats and scorpions coming inside the rundown loft room and mosquitoes plenty. The previous inhabitants lived with it thinking they had to. We screened up the 3 window frames and 1 door frame before any other renovations and problem solved. No need to hurt any animal and you are only fighting a losing battle by worrying about scorpions and rats in your room. You also don't need to be uselessly spraying nasty chemicals to deter mosquitoes. You can live comfortably and sustainably by using mosquito screens on all window frames and door frames and still have a well ventilated comfortable dwelling.

Does it make hot in winters?
@OurLand
@OurLand 2 года назад
Yes it does help a little but this is more about managing air flow. And we like to keep our windows open at night. Temperatures here usually only go down to 18 degrees.

What we realized that having a cat solves a lot of the animal problems.

Note - do not hammer. Only drill directly with the srew itself. Because its mud, if you use the drill-bit it will get damaged (not be sharp anymore)

Did you use nails on the wall hanging??
@OurLand
@OurLand 2 года назад
Hi asly. No we used a fishing line(so it cant be seen) all the way from the metal roof structure coming down. For some of the build in furniture we used 3 inch screws. Nails are usually a bad idea because of the force and technique needed to put them in and can cause damage to the wall.
