no fake stuff? you know this is a 62 year 1.8 million dead unreported genocide for u.s. gold mining do you have any clue how long west papuans have been trying to get anyone to notice they're being murdered?
this video is so disingenuous.what these guys do not yell you is those "buses"have bulletproof windows and drive in convoy for safety reasons, dozens of people have been killed in this area including tachers. This violence is ongoing there is armed violent resistance just Google Freeport violence and read for yourselves.
Thank you for taking us into your home environment. really beautiful home. Tembagapura looks amazing and so peaceful. Excited for the next travel vlog!
Aw, it's a really nice small town with good environment, the landscape can't lose to Switzerland 🥺 I love that the town surrounded by green mountains, with industrial buildings (it looks so different from what we have in Jakarta Selatan) but also got all the necessary facilities! (Even more complete! My eyes balled when you guys show the market) What a life! If you teach for 9 weeks and travel for another 9 weeks, then what do you guys do on the rest of the weeks in a year? And do your school teach only expat students or do they have locals too? Or do they have separate classes because the language barrier? How do you live for 8 months while transitioning job from Dubai to Papua? I mean, maybe you guys have enough savings from last job and yt monetization or maybe you run some business? How do you guys manage your financial so you can travel the world? Also, I'd love to see some tips/hack for traveling! (Just like on your old videos) maybe later on you can include some or make it on yt shorts? Oh, I got so many questions and many things I want to express, but I already forgot! 😂 I hope I'll live this way too soon! Make myself happy with enjoyable, passionate work 🥰

I never thought that in Indonesia there are places as beautiful as in Papua, to be precise the scenery is as beautiful as abroad. I hope there are many beautiful places in Indonesia like in Papua, thank you for sharing this amazing view, have a nice day there and be healthy!!! 🙌🏼
Well you are welcome to visit us in West Papua. East province of Indonesia. Well most of the highlands of West Papua are beautiful... It's same thing also as East Papua (PNG). You can google me and visit Papua
Dear Jonathan and Kelly , Thankyou for the vlog . I lived there for 11 years, but I can’t go back anymore because my father no longer work there. I last visited it in 2007, and I really miss Tembagapura. Your beautiful video really helps me treat my homesickness and bring back all beautiful memories of my family that still clear in my mind. Thankyou very much. I’m waiting for your next vlog ❤️❤️🌸
@nimoexacti945 I feel you. I grew up in Tembagapura in the 80's and moved away in the mid 90's. I still remember playing in that river by the F barrack with friends on a sunny Saturday morning.
Is it me or is Cedar getting more beautiful and Granite getting more handsome? Forest please dont grow up and stay cute forever!!! Lol! Of course all this stems from good looking parents! Looks like you guys are having a great life in the mountains! Bless you and your whole family Jonathan & Kelly! Looking forward to more videos from you guys exploring the world! Love from Singapore ! ❤❤❤
Dear Jonathan and Kelly, if you don't mind I think It would be interesting if you make some daily activities vlog while you're all in Tembaga Pura, about the school and children activities at their school would be very great..., I think some American families also live in Tembaga Pura if you happen to know them may be you could share experiences, I'm always curious expecting every new vlog of you and your children, hope you're all in good health and happy, and it's really nice to see Forrest and Granite have new hair cut. Hope everything would be fine while you're all travelling. Cherio...💙💙💙💙💙
Tembagapura is an amazing place. The mountain view is beautiful. Thank you for sharing a part of your life. . Granite,Cedar & Forest are lucky to have parents like you guys. All the great adventures. Love from Kuching Sarawak 😊
your vlogs, Johnathan are really informative and especially this one is one of the best. west papua is an amazing place, you guys are so lucky. all the best for future endeavors.

Wow what an amazing video😊. Be interesting to see the costs of your supermarket compared to in land. The views and simplicity of the town looks amazing
wow you're back to indonesia! would love to see your adventure hiking on mountain, jungle, anywhere else. keep update teachers! I really love your content.
I didn't know you guys living in tembagapura, and that makes sense to me why you guys have a soft spot for Indonesia. I like watching your traveling videos. keep it up! cheers.
Your kids are growing up to be wonderful people and have great character - of course with great parents to guide them along. I always have a smile on my face whenever I stream your vlogs and share all your special travel experiences and food choices. Keep up the good work with your videos and blessings for sharing your beautiful kids. RC, Toronto.
Thank you for the BTS video Kelly and Jonathan! Your home is beautiful. And that grocery store is pretty epic. Definitely more variety and freshness than most of our Canadian stores. Would really like to know more about the kids schooling and how the 9 weeks works when you’re at home and then 9 weeks while travelling. Are you home schooling when you’re back in Tembagapura or are the kids enrolled in a local school? Are you world schooling when you’re off for the 9 weeks of travel again? Do you have any recommendations on resources to use while world schooling? Sorry for all the questions 🤣
Feel like going back then, I can feel the cool vibe again , I was in Tembagapura when I was in Juniorhigh..I miss the Valley town of Tembagapura..Thanks guys
thanks for sharing! i've always wondered how you manage the kiddos' schooling while 'on the road' (thought you were home-schooling them). Now it makes sense. Granite's ramyeon noodles looks delicious! Tembagapura is beautiful, just like your family. Will be awaiting your next travel adventure. Love from Sg. (Pls let Cedar know that she did a great job with the room tour segment.)
Is not Indonesia is West papua Indonesia is one of Criminals Terrorise Jiat KKB separtisme illegal Government in West Papua, saat Indonesia occupied merapok menduduki west papua saat hari ini in West Papua FREE WEST PAPUA.❤✊🏻🇨🇺🇨🇺🇨🇺
Hi hope you're all doing great! Btw I've been wondering how you guys manage your financial to be able to travel around the world? Do you guys also do remote work? Because I'm planning to travel, I need some advice on this. Maybe you can make a video specially for this topic? Thanks!
As a TCK who lived in Tembags from 1985 - 1993……my parents were there for 18 years, this is the best tour of Tembags I have seen. In now 44 and you have allowed my 9 year old and 5 year old kids to see where I grew up. My Teachers were amazing and I can tell how GREAT you both are for the community, home and all expat kids. It’s rare when you watch a video and can have an instant connection because of where you lived. I am living in Arkansas currently……so if you ever get close to the area, I would love to see y’all. Have a blessed day! This is a great Christmas present for my kids…..they ASK me daily about Tembags (Papua or Irian Jaya) and I have only my old ISS yearbooks, until you guys gave a tour. I was reminiscing as a child of the bridges and rivers y’all crossed on where I use to play as kid and throw rocks. You’re part of a very specially community that has lived there. Look forward to meeting y’all in the future. I don’t know if the mascot is still the same at ISS, but we were the eagles. So please tell your teachers and students that there are A LOT of us out there that know what it is to grow up in the JUNGLE 😀🙌🙏👍
Oh wow! That is amazing! We are so fortunate to have the opportunity to live in Tembagapura. We are so happy that you also have such fund memories of living here. Thank you for reaching out. :-)
I'm amazed at the number of people that are commenting that lived there. However, when I saw your years there, you were there around the time I visited my father that lived there. I was there visiting during the summer of 1992. I can't imagine growing up there, filled with good and bad. I wish I learned more when I was there. My father moved back to California some years later and passed away in 2012 while I was living in the Middle East.
Fyi, Tembagapura is part of Central Papua (Papua Tengah) now. I think you should stop using the term West Papua to describe New Guinea's Indonesia. Because, now West Papua is other provinces name too :)
Really happy to see your daily life vlog ,, my mother is saying i was waiting to see your home vlogs.. kindly make more vlog of this kind … We love ur family .. love from Pakistan 🇵🇰❤
prambanan st, wow i miss being there, spent 5 years as a junior school student way back at YPJ, is it still have a seperate section of IS and the regular YPJ?
Happy Home sweet home the golden Family in Tembagapura, West Papua💃! I suggest you to collaborate with Dan and Lyn in Bali🚢 and then traveling to Wae Rebo, Lombok🗻.

Don't be fooled by the situation 😅 The Cartenz Highlands area often sees armed conflicts between the Indonesian Army and the KKB Separatist Group 👀 Tembagapura is also an area where conflict often occurs
Be careful wherever you are, I, an Indonesian, really like to see your family vlogs, I hope you stay harmonious, and still love each other. Have fun in Papua, God protect you 🤗
So is West Papua part of Papua New Guinea? (I should just get a map out) Which is almost on my door step as an Australian. I thought it was full of savages decapiating each other. I'm only asking because you seem to be living in a relative normal environment.
West Papua is a victim of OUR governments and ongoing illegal conduct of UN employees. On 21st September 1962 our governments voted (General Assembly res.1752) to give the new UN Secretary General U Thant permission to invade West Papua and appoint Indonesia as the current administrator. Our governments were using article 85 part 1 of the UN Charter to authorise this; article 85 part 2 requires that the Secretary General tell the UN Trusteeship Council about the trusteeship agreement ('New York Agreement') so that the Council can then begin its article 87 & 88 duties making yearly UN reports to protect & promote independence of the colony (West Papua). In violation of the UN Charter, U Thant never told the Trusteeship Council; and nor have any of the subsequent Secretary Generals. IF UN employees were honest, they would insist on revealing General Assembly resolution 1752 invasion & subjugation of West Papua to the UN Trusteeship Council to whom they should have reported it in 1962.
thanx for sharing. This reminds me a bit on some parts that are similar in Otway Range in Victoria, OZ-Australia. Yet, Tembagapura is much cooler n higher in Altitude.
Hmmm... sedih liat nya luxurious over the native papua...no wonder bnyk negara asing yg pingin Papua kluar dr indo ...supaya mereka bisa mengeruk kekayaan alam ny...dan hidup enak di sana
Tembagapura is not in West Papua. Recent updated. In 2023, Papua has 4 new provinces in addition to 2 provinces. So, in 2023, Papua region comprises 6 Indonesian provinces: Papua, Central Papua, Highland Papua, South Papua, West Papua, and Southwest Papua. Today, Tembagapura is in the Central Papua province.
Only separatists and their supporters named it West Papua. They have a dream to build a country named West Papua consisting of those 6 provinces. These separatists live surounding Tembagapura and other cities, they often kidnap and terror people. All 6 Papua provinces'prosperity increase year after year; Indonesia government pay special attention to Papuan people. The nature of Papua itself is very beautiful; visitors must be careful and take care themselves.
Hi Jess. Thank you so much for the super chat!! Our family really appreciates your support. We popped a little letter in the mail for your family to enjoy a couple of days ago. :-)
Wow. I was in Tembagapura in 1980. If I recall, that was where we flew out, on the airstrip owned by the mine--at that time it was the giant U.S. Freeport-McMoran, destroyers of culture and the environment all over the world. Tembagapura looks good, but see it as a boomtown dropped literally out of the sky into a culture of stone axes and penis gourds. Reason I was there was to climb Puncak Jaya, with the famous humanitarian Dr. Geoff Tabin and brain surgeon Dr. Robert Shapiro, straight from their Oxford graduation. We were the first party to free climb the face. I wrote a 2-part Sports Ilustrated story about it. P.S. Coincidentally, I'm leaving the US forever tomorrow, moving to Lombok, Indonesia. My family and mango farm are waiting. btw I had a good friend who taught in India on your same program. Great thing you're doing with your kids! They will grow up to be special people, which the world will need more than ever.
Thank you for taking me down memory lane 😊 I was born and spent the majority of my my childhood there. It' amazing how everything looks exactly the same from 15 years ago. The hospital, schools, shopping centre, houses all still look the same!
Ah, so glad you got to see this! I’m sure it brought back all the memories ❤️ We know our kids will get to watch this when they are homesick for Tembagapura, too.
