My understanding of the Little Ice Age was that an ice dam broke, flooding the northern part of ocean with ice and very cold water, which resulted in an altered climate. Is he saying that this didn't happen, or that it happened BECAUSE of the decimation of the natives? South American potatoes could never be sold in the US. Look at the location of those lakes via the provided map.. Half of them are salt water, and almost all of the others near population centers are extremely small AND directly adjacent to a major river. The largest non-salt water lakes are in the mountainous west, with one being directly south of Western Russia.
